  • Fantastic Product and Support
Color: Black
Ordered this for working with my mustang since my prior stick is long since gone away and broken. I just grabbed the first default color I saw and, within a day, had been contacted by a fantastic rep at the tack shop selling this who said that they were expecting that color in soon and had forgot to list it as out of stock and that they could send me a different color or delay this or or cancel the order. Color has never trained a horse in my experience so I said to send whatever was most convient. It has worked great, too! I can rub down the mustang now, and he loves getting itched with this stick. It's durable, the string isn't worn or dry rotted, the leather is supple on the end. It has no fiberglass splinters and arrived promptly. Honestly, I am so glad the first color didn't work out for me. The one I got is bright orange and I've put it in about six random locations. Had the neutral color arrived, it would be lost somewhere around here. But, with the brighter color, it's worked out fantastically. I also appreciate the level of concern from the seller, the support, and the options they gave. 100% would love to purchase from them again in the future. ... show more

  • Good value for the money
Color: Black
Not a bad knock off training stick. However my shetland pony got hold of it and broke it. Prior to that my only comment would be the leather on the end that holds the string seems a littke flimsy. But its a cheap stick, and I will buy another.

  • Good carrot stick!
Color: Black
Works great! The end piece wears out pretty quick and becomes discolored but overall would purchase again.

  • Good for newbie like me
Color: Black
Color states black; picture shows many colors. I'm so glad that I received a bright orange one. I tend to lose things often. Got my horse back from the trainer & was told to buy one of these sticks. I've used it for 1 day & it does the job well. Like others have stated. The end is pleather, so I'm not sure how long that will hold up. I love how the whip easily comes out of the stick if you want to do other exercises. So far, so good with this purchase. 🙂 ... show more

  • Usable, but probably won’t buy again
Color: Black
I will use this stick until it breaks, but it’s not precisely what I wanted. The rubber on the handle has already come off but luckily it’s tight enough that I can slide it back on and not have to worry about my stick flying when I’m working with horses and desensitizing. The string isn’t as long as I would like it to be and the tie on the top gives you a lopsided string, but for the money it works. It’s a beater stick for the spring and it’s handling that well despite the rubber coming off (not during use). The popper hasn’t come off yet despite some heavy use and contact with the ground desensitizing- which is impressive with the mud and frozen ground that makes popper casualties beyond common at my barn. ... show more

Good whip for ground work. It didn't matter to me but I was sent orange when I selected a black one

  • Great stick
Color: Black
Ordered the Prime shipping eligible stick, it came black with black string. I love it, can't beat it for the price and compared to the Parelli brand and Clinton Anderson brand, both of which I have used extensively before, just as nice quality. I haven't been disappointed by any Tough-1 products I have purchased and frequently choose them first over something else. The leather loop at the top is nice and thick and wide, hopefully it won't rip open as it ages. The string is a pretty thick string, the leather popper on the end works nice. Can't say yet how the string will hold up with continued use, if it will stay pliable or get stiff with dirt and age. While the 5 foot string is nice, I would rather have had a 4 foot string honestly, it's pretty long to manage when working with ponies. The stick is 4 foot, just right for being able to touch on the hindquarters while standing wherever I need to be. The grip is rather large, it is called a golf club grip, rubber with nubbins, doesn't slip in my hand even with gloves on. Really can't go wrong with it, and you can purchase 2 of these for the price of buying one from Parelli, that pretty much says it all in my book. ... show more

  • Good training whip
Color: Purple
I've used this training whip to help me with my mustang gelding and my very temperamental mare, and it has helped so much. It should not be used to actually whip any animal, but as an extension of the arm, it works well. Everything important has held up so far through much use. The string part is easily removable, and you can attach bags or anything really to the stick itself. It's also pretty easy to shorten the string if needed. The only downside is that the color does not last, but a little colored tape or something would fix it if you're into the color customization. The handle has also held up well, which I am surprised about. The length is nice, shorter than a longe whip. I really like that it's a little thicker and heavier so you can actually feel the weight in your hand. For instance, it's strong enough to help reach and pull straps, but it's not so heavy that your arm gets tired from using it. For the price, this is a great training whip. ... show more
