This is a quality product, but it’s not as thick as the climbing ropes at your local gym. You have been warned! Great if you have smaller hands. It needs to be as thick as the battle ropes in the gym please change your rope to a thicker rope. Then it would be AWESOME!

This rope has turned out to be really wonderful, though I will give this caveat: when it first arrived, ot smelled very strongly...almost like fuel. This is most likely from the glue used in the production process, though I'm just speculating. To resolve this, I let it air out for a week outside. Now the smell can't be noticed unless you stick your nose right up to it, but if that's the biggest issue at this point, I don't care. Good purchase, all things considered. ... show more

Sturdy hook and just the right length for my garage gym... not sure about the over powering smell other reviews mentioned. I did open it outside to be prepared for the smell but it was very minimal and I was able to take it inside right away and no one in my house even noticed a smell. As for the materiel, it is a bit rough like a rope you would find outside or on an obstacle course and it is a little thinner than expected. I bought this rope a few months ago and have been very happy with it. I have read various complaints about the smell of the rope and shedding fibers. Yeah it does have a light odor but nothing terrible. I haven't noticed a large amount of fibers coming off. Bottom line is that it's a climbing rope. It does it's job and is a pretty decent price, so who cares if your hands smell a little after climbing it? Just wash your hands after you're done. Boom, problem solved. ... show more

The rope itself seems to be a good quality rope. The reason for the three stars is that the ring and the carabiner are very cheap.
