  • Great Product
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
Excelent product as I expected

  • Basic, lightweight, monitor w/ good options, but BYO Cables/Power if not using single USB-C
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
I picked this up to be used as a portable monitor for on-the-go outings. The display was packaged a retail box. The display itself was well protected in a foam sleave within a form fitted clamshell carboard insert. You also get a 3'3" USB-C cable, a quick start guide, and an information packet (which is useless... it's basically a must be included for regulations, but gives no real info on the device). I have no complaints on the packaging. Ok, I'm going to get the worst parts out of the way first. -You get the bare minimums to support a device that is within 3ft of the monitor and can supply the monitor with power and signal thru USB-C in a desktop setting, that is all. -The Quick Start Guide showed optional USB A-C Cable & HDMI Mini-Std Cable. It's a real shame it didn't include the HMDI cable as that would have been really useful... even if it was just a HMDI Mini-Std adapter. -They didn't include any way for the monitor to self-power itself if using thru HDMI (i.e. no power block). -No storage pocket to protect the screen for travel. Next is the "it is what it is" section. I don't say this negatively, but specs drive expectations. -1920x1080x60hz max -2 USB-C + 1 Mini HDMI Inputs, headphone output. -2 very tiny speakers on the back of the unit (it is enough to work, but curb your expectations). The positive thing is I originally wasn't actually expecting any speakers (even though it's in the listing), so for me it was a bonus. -kickstand that doubles as a button/port protector when stowed. It is really stiff too (in a good way), so don't have to worry about it slowing falling. -4 Buttons (menu, up, down, input) -Instructions call for a 5volt 3amp power supply. -Monitor is super thin and lightweight. -Overall size 14" x 8-3/4" x 5/8" (at its thickest spot)... in case you need a protective case. The menu is a bit clunky to use, but it doesn't take too long to get the hang of it. It had more options than I was expecting. Specifically, there was a game mode that let you choose some presets option (including the low blue light)... but there is a warning that comes up that states turning on Game Mode can increase power usage (which I confirmed). I tested different configurations with the USB-C plug (I was not able to test HMDI as I didn't have an adapter handy) and used an LCD Steam Deck for the testing. Unfortunately, I can't find the max power out for the steam deck USB-C connector... so I cut some of the tests short (i.e. the direct Deck>Monitor w/o extra power). It works but I wouldn't push it due to the power draw. My first tests pictured was powering the monitor thru USB-C1 (with a battery power block) and plugging the deck into USB-C2. This setup allowed the monitor to be powered by the battery and the deck to be charged by the battery... however I quickly realized the battery did not quite have enough power to fast charge the deck. I switched the battery block out and used the Deck AC>USB Power Adapter. This confirmed you can use the deck with a monitor and receive a charge at the same time w/o a dock. This was promising. My second tests involved only plugging the Deck directly into the Monitor (I wouldn't personally use it like this, but I wanted a quick way to test the power in this situation). The monitor pulled 5 volts and about 1/2 amp. I then turned on Game Mode to FPS and then did the test again. This time it was at 5 volts and about 3/4 amp. So, it appears that game mode does use more power. I only did these power tests, so your milage may vary. The screen itself was crisp and had good color (way better than it showed on the picture I took). For the regular price of $79.99 (currently on sale for $69.99), I think this has pretty good value as-is. However, if you also need an HMDI cable, a protective case, and/or a power supply it becomes more expensive. In my opinion, the smart cover variation might be a bit more useful for travel (and its cheaper)... but for desktop use, the kickstand on this item is better. ... show more

  • A well made inexpensive portable 15" monitor
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
This is basically a decent 15" laptop type screen made into a portable monitor. Overall it seems well made with good fit and finish. It includes a solid metal kickstand for it to be propped up. When you open up the kickstand provides access to the ports and the buttons. On the right side of the monitor it has two USB-C ports for power and video input, as well as a full size HDMI port. It requires 3amps to operate. On the left side there are the buttons for bringing up the monitor menu and adjusting the settings. Serviceable but not very intuitive. The list of options in the menu are extensive. This monitor can be mounted on a stand. I have not tried this. The image quality is good, it is sharp, and the colors are good with good contrast, brightness is ok. The monitor has two speakers on the back of the monitor. The sound is surprisingly good. The sound has little bass, but what is there is clear and reasonably loud. I was able to use just one cable to both power and provide signal to the monitor from my laptop, the setup was effortless. I also attach the monitor to my raspberry pi 500 but needed a separate power supply for the screen. Overall, this is a good portable monitor at a good price. Well made and works well. Very much recommended. ... show more

  • Great Portable Monitor with Excellent Connectivity and Picture Quality
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
I've been pleasantly surprised by this portable monitor overall. The display quality is much better than I expected for a screen in this price range. The 1080p IPS panel looks sharp, colors are vibrant, and the 60Hz refresh rate provides a smooth experience for everyday use, media consumption, and even some casual gaming. Text is easy to read, and the viewing angles are excellent. The brightness has also been more than adequate for my use. I primarily use it indoors as part of my streaming setup, and the screen remains clear and easy to read. Chat messages, browser windows, and other content are all visible without having to constantly adjust brightness settings. Connectivity is one of the monitor's strongest features. It includes two USB-C ports and a Mini HDMI port, making it easy to connect to laptops, gaming devices, phones, and PCs. I especially like the dual USB-C setup because one port can be used for power passthrough while the other connects to a phone or device. This allows my phone to stay charged while using the display, which is a very convenient feature. One thing worth mentioning is that if you're using the Mini HDMI connection, the monitor still needs power through one of the USB-C ports. This isn't really a problem since most people will already have a USB-C cable nearby, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning to connect a gaming console, PC, or other HDMI device. Once powered, the HDMI connection works reliably and provides a great image. Setup was incredibly simple. Most of my devices recognized the monitor immediately without requiring drivers or extra software. It was essentially plug-and-play, allowing me to get everything running within minutes. I personally use this monitor as a secondary display for my streaming PC to read chat while gaming or streaming. The size works perfectly for that purpose because it provides enough screen space to comfortably monitor messages without taking over my desk. The display is sharp enough that text remains easy to read even during long streaming sessions. The monitor is also very lightweight and portable. It's thin enough to slide into a backpack or laptop bag without adding much bulk, making it easy to carry between rooms or take on the go. The built-in kickstand folds neatly into the back, which helps keep the overall design compact and travel-friendly. In terms of ease of use, the monitor is somewhat mixed. Basic operation and connectivity are extremely straightforward, but the on-screen controls could be better. The four buttons located on the side are difficult to identify and press without looking directly at them. Navigating the menu system can also be frustrating because the layout isn't very intuitive, making simple adjustments take longer than they should. The built-in speakers are another area where there is room for improvement. The audio quality feels somewhat weak and lacks depth, so I wouldn't recommend relying on them for movies, music, or gaming. However, considering how compact this monitor is, I still appreciate that speakers are included at all, and they work fine for basic audio when needed. Overall, this is a very capable portable monitor with excellent picture quality, solid brightness, versatile connectivity, lightweight portability, and a simple plug-and-play setup. It has worked extremely well as a dedicated chat monitor for my streaming PC. If the speakers were stronger and the menu controls were easier to use, it would easily earn 5 stars from me. Even with those drawbacks, it's still a solid portable display that I would happily recommend. ... show more

  • Excellent Portable Monitor for Work and Travel
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
I've been genuinely impressed with this portable monitor. The display is bright, crisp, and surprisingly vibrant for the price, making it perfect as a second screen whether I'm working remotely, editing documents, or monitoring multiple applications. Setup couldn't be easier—one USB-C cable to my laptop and I'm up and running in seconds. The built-in kickstand is sturdy enough to keep the monitor stable on my desk, and the slim, lightweight design makes it easy to slip into a laptop bag without adding much weight. I've used it with both Windows and Mac devices, and it's been completely hassle-free. The included mini HDMI option is also nice to have for devices that don't support USB-C video output. The built-in speakers are adequate for basic audio, but the real star here is the IPS display. Colors look great, viewing angles are excellent, and text remains sharp enough for long work sessions without causing eye strain. For anyone looking for an affordable portable monitor for productivity, travel, or even a little gaming on the go, this AOC is an outstanding value. It's become one of those accessories I don't like leaving home without. ... show more

  • Gorgeous IPS panel, but connection to a Macbook was very finicky.
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
First I'll say that, when this DID connect properly after plugging it in, and it actually displayed a screen, it worked beautifully thereafter and had no further issues. The display is 1920 x 1080, not FHD or 4K, but it was still very sharp, with full color range and no flickering of any sort. But plugging it into my 16" 2021 Macbook Pro M1 which was powered On, or when Off and then powering it On with this unit already plugged in, it would usually only power-up the display to standby mode, the power LED on the left showing Orange (standby mode) and not Green (active display mode). No amount of mouse movement or fiddling with the Macbook contols would change that; it remained in standby mode only. And in System Settings -> Displays it did not show the display at all. I had to manually power off the display with the power button on the left side, then power it back on. Sometimes this took more than one try before the monitor would power up WITH a display and the status LED showing Green. I consider this to be a major annoyance, so two stars off for that, although I can't say that the display was defective because it DID eventually work properly. And when it did work properly, the display was gorgeous. Other reviews using different brand (Windows) laptops, or other devices that had a HDMI or USB-C video output, have not mentioned the issue I experienced, so I cannot say this is a bad design overall, only that with a Macbook, you MAY experience issues. I'd give this a tentative "Yes, I recommend this...BUT" review; if you have a Macbook, you may experience the same issue that I did. Just keep that in mind when deciding whether to purchase. ... show more

  • Good on the go
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
I picked this up to use as a second screen when traveling and it's been a solid addition to my setup. Setup couldn't be simpler — one USB-C cable from my laptop and it was recognized instantly, no drivers, no fuss. Works great with Windows, could not test Mac, right away. The 1080p IPS display looks sharp and colors are accurate. Would I love 2K or 4K? Sure, but at this price point 1080p is absolutely fine for productivity, video, and even gaming (put discord on these screen). It's bright enough for indoor use though you'll want to crank the brightness up from the default. The screen is slim, very lightweight, and slides easily into a laptop bag alongside my laptop without adding much bulk. the built in kick stand makes using it easy to do. A couple of connectivity notes worth knowing: if you want to use HDMI you'll need a mini-HDMI adapter since one isn't included. The USB-C cable that comes in the box is also on the short side, which can be awkward depending on where your laptop's ports are. Worth having a longer cable on hand. The built-in speakers are there and functional — good enough for casual use but nothing remarkable. The 3.5mm headphone jack on the side is a nice backup option but more likely you will want to use the laptops built in options such as bluetooth. Overall this is excellent value for a portable monitor from a trusted brand. Reliable, easy to use, and genuinely useful for anyone who needs a second screen on the go. ... show more

  • Excellent travel screen; requires independent power for my laptop
Size: 15.6 inch Kickstand
This extender required a bit of troubleshooting to set up because my older laptop's USB-C port doesn’t supply enough power to run it. I connected it to an external power source and used a mini-HDMI cable to get a signal, and it’s worked ever since. Unlike clip-on models, this monitor utilizes a kickstand to sit on the desk (or table) right next to your computer. It does eat up some physical desk or table space, but that’s just a basic spatial planning issue rather than a knock on the product itself. It folds down beautifully and has been a great, reliable display to take with me on the road. 4 stars! ... show more
