So far I have been completely satisfied with these glasses. I just had cataract surgery and no longer wear prescription glasses. I wanted something well made, and also wanted to buy American. So, they are 10x the cost of the China-made glasses. They feel sturdy and are just the right amount of tint. Unless I do something stupid, they should last a very long time. These are the best sunglasses I've ever owned. They will look good on anyone, but for pilots they are very hard to beat. These were official issue to military aviators for several decades (since changed to Randolph). Compared to Randolph, these are every bit as nice in my opinion, and at a less expensive price point. Do yourself a favor and get a pair - take care of them, and you'll be well protected and stylish for years to come. In 1968 I was issued sunglasses in Vietnam. I remembered the name of the glasses but never paid much attention to it. After one year service, I returned home with the same glasses and wore them for many years to come. Just like your favorite slippers, the glasses became a part of me. But unfortunately through time, the glasses became old, pitted glass lens, and a fit that was not the same. RIP American Optical, and off I went with different brands All nice glasses but something was missing, that old slipper fell of American Optical. For Fathers Day this year, my loving wife found them on Amazon, and I have been reunited with my best friend. The quality and clarity of American Optical in my opinion, is the best. Amazing how long they have been in business, and a real pleasure to see that "Made in the USA" marking.
