  • Very nice box!
Style: 3-Tiers Multi-Function
This box is perfect for my gun tools and parts and cleaning supplies. Very sturdy but pretty light. Price in line with similar items, but many don’t have a lid that rests on the surface when completely opened. Flambeau 3003 Zerust storage boxes fit in the bottom perfecto.

  • DURABLE, MODULAR DESIGN
Style: 3-Tiers Multi-Function
There are 3 different reviews below. One each for the 3-TIER TOOLBOX, THE SINGLE DRAWER TOOLBOX, AND THE DOUBLE-DRAWER TOOLBOX. In that order. 3-TiER STORAGE TOOLBOX ORGANIZER When I saw the listing for this 3-tier multi-functional tool box I immediately saw an opportunity to bring order to my collection of tools. For starters, the storage capacity of the box itself is significant. It features a large main compartment at the bottom, and two smaller fold-out trays. Each of which has 4 self-contained parts containers and a shallow open tray for loose items, like wrenches and screwdrivers. And if the capacity isn’t enough, this tool box is part of a modular system that can expand both the capacity and the application. When used in this way, the box supports a tower of storage compartments, very much like a professional tool cabinet. Only the Anyylon brand is made from plastic, and the professional models from metal. Although the design of the tool box, including the dimensions, should satisfy even the most demanding users, the overall quality will make or break the range of applications. For example, if used for tools, this storage box will need to have good impact resistance and strength to withstand the weight of the tools, and the dynamic forces from everyday use. And yet this toolbox doesn’t have to store tools. It can be just as effective for lighter duty roles, like storage of keepsakes, electronics, or garden / household supplies (including light duty tools). Bottom line, there’s really no limit how this toolbox can be used. As long as the quality measures up. Here’s my spin on the performance: ✅ The box is made from polypropylene (PP) plastic. Although not as tough as ABS plastic, PP can yield good results if the stock material is of a high performance grade. From what I’ve seen so far, I’d say it is. For example, the plastic has a uniform color and texture, with no major defects like chips or cracks that might compromise the physical integrity or performance. However, I did notice a rather large visual artifact that appears as a seam on both sides of the bottom panel (see attached pics). After doing some research, I suspect it’s a production defect in the plastic, similar to a “weld line” that can sometimes occur in injection molded parts when two fronts of molten plastic join together. As it turns out, the seam in this case aligns at the halfway point between two plastic injection ports. Unfortunately, weld lines are often associated with areas of structural weakness in the plastic, prone to cracking and even failure under stress. But they can also be purely cosmetic, making it difficult to predict their actual impact. So for now, it’s just a cosmetic blemish. NOTE: PP does have some advantages, including chemical, impact, and fatigue (from repetitive flex) resistance. It's also the more cost-effective option, compared to ABS. Of course, this helps to keep the cost down. ✅ The supporting walls and panels are ~1.5mm thick, and show excellent rigidity with minimal flex. To test the performance of the plastic and the overall build, I loaded the toolbox with ~40 lbs of tools and walked around the yard. At no time did the walls or bottom buckle, or show any signs of weakness. In fact, I felt as if the toolbox could hold another 10lbs, if not more. All of the seams remained reasonably tight, nor was there any sagging or bounce about the handle, suggesting minimal structural flex. Bottom line, the overall performance exceeded my expectations. Especially for a toolbox made from PP plastic. ✅ The 2 cantilever trays in the toolbox are supported by heavy-duty, articulating steel straps (1.5-2mm thick), or cantilever hinges. They are attached to the walls with metal rivets and appear to be very durable. In fact, these hinges are one of the strongest elements in the toolbox build. Equally important, the movement of the tray apparatus is smooth and balanced on both sides. After filling the lower tray with tools, it remained fully operational, with no signs of overload or mechanical stress at the hinges. NOTE: The bottom of the lower tray is just about even with the top of the main compartment. But it does NOT interfere with items stored below. In fact, I was able to fill the main compartment to the very top, and the lid closed just fine. With no interference from the bottom tray. This is important because it allows the main compartment to be filled to capacity. ✅ The lid is attached to the bottom half with a piano (continuous) hinge that extends nearly the entire length of the toolbox (15.75-inches). Although the interlocking loops, or knuckles, of the hinge are plastic, they are supported by 2 heavy gauge metal pins, one 8-inches in length the other 6-inches. Piano hinges are an ideal solution for connecting the two halves of the toolbox. It’s a design with proven durability. Just keep in mind that the hinge will only be as durable as the plastic knuckles. If enough of them break due to shock force or fatigue, the hinge might fail. ✅ There are two large flat steel latches, one on each side of the front face, that secure the lid to the base when the lid is closed. When closed, the two halves align properly, with a the seal that looks tight. ❗️The box is advertised to have a “stainless steel lock”. However, I found no lock provided with this tool box. ✅ Modular design. This tool box can be stacked, using clips and receivers on the sides, providing an option to create a tower similar to a professional tool cabinet. This feature expands the capability of this toolbox by a large margin. For me, it’s one of the best features. ❗️One of the pictures in the listing shows a ghostly image of a wheeled platform for the 3-tiered toolbox. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen a listing for any such platform from ANYYION. So if you plan on stacking this 3-tier toolbox with others in the ANYYION system, it won’t be very mobile. Unless you can find a compatible wheeled platform from another brand. To be honest, I’m puzzled by this deficiency. 👍 RECOMMENDATION 👍 Overall, I’m very pleased with the core build quality of this Anyylon toolbox, including the fit and finish. All the seams are tight, all the rivets are fully set, and hardware correctly aligned and installed. Bottom line, this toolbox looks and feels right. I’m also keen to take advantage of the modular design. It will provide me with the extra storage capacity I need, while keeping the footprint the same. Building “up” instead of “out” is always a great way to conserve limited floor space. In the end, I’m happy to recommend with a 4-star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ************************************************* ANNYION SINGLE DEEP DRAWER ORGANIZER TOOLBOX ✅ WHAT I LIKE BEST ✅ This box can be integrated with other compatible storage units, as part of a modular tower system that offers considerable storage capacity and versatility. ❗️WHAT I LIKE LEAST❗️ The LATCH mechanism for opening the drawer. This is a high use component, deserving of a sturdy build. Instead, all of the moving parts are plastic, with the only exception being a metal spring. I'm sorry to say that when I pull back on the latch, the feel of the mechanism is certainly not reassuring. In fairness, it works. But the durability is suspect. Especially if the latch is exposed to the forces exerted by heavy loads like tools. COMMENTARY This ANYYION Single Deep Drawer Toolbox offers a medium-size storage compartment for tools, craft supplies, hunting gear, you name it. It’s a highly versatile storage unit as a stand alone organizer, or when coupled to other toolboxes in the ANYYION product line. Although the box is made from flexible polypropylene plastic, as opposed to a more sturdy plastic like ABS, the quality appears to be good. However, I do note some degree of flex in the walls. Not to mention blemishes, possibly weld lines, that occur when conditions for injection molding are not optimal. They appear as long streaks or seams between the injection ports in the bottom panel of both the box frame and the drawer. Although this is only a cosmetic defect at the present time, weld lines are known to correlate with areas of weakness. In addition, this occurrence is not unique to this toolbox, because I see the same blemish in other boxes of the modular system. The mechanics of the drawer (i.e. opening & closing) benefits from metal slides on both sides. They are made from durable steel and move with a smooth gliding action. Both metal slides are attached to the plastic drawer by metal anchors, providing another level of strength. I scrutinized the anchors for any possible issues with the set, and found none. Overall, the assembly of parts appears to have been executed with good precision. So I’m generally pleased with the overall build. With one exception…see next. The drawer has a plastic latch (behind the red handle on the front panel) that has to be pulled forward to open the drawer. It works by moving two plastic hooks, one on each end of the drawer, that catch a STRIKE PIN inside of the drawer opening. When the drawer is CLOSED, pressure from a spring keeps the hooks in the UP position where they catch the strike pin. When the latch is pulled forward to OPEN the drawer, the spring is compressed and the hooks drop DOWN enough to clear the strike pin. It’s a very simple system. However, the plastic latch is connected to the plastic hooks by a plastic rod, and to my eye, the entire assembly looks vulnerable to the force from repetitive use. In my opinion, the latch is the weakest design element in the overall build of the toolbox. Although I really like this single drawer toolbox, I was surprised by how little it actually held. First of all, the interior dimensions, 14” (W) x 10.5” (D) x 3.75” (H), only provide approximately 550 sq inches of storage capacity. To put that in context, the average bread box is around 640 sq inches. Or in the context of tools, the toolbox was full after the following items were added (see pics): ➜ One 20V Cordless Drill/Driver w/ Battery (1.5Ah) ➜ An Extra 20V Battery (1.5Ah) ➜ Single Bay Charger ➜ 3 Small Drill Bit boxes (each 5.75” x 3.5” x 1.6”) 👍 RECOMMENDATION 👍 This single drawer toolbox was designed to be an integral part of the ANYYION tool tower. Although I found the total storage capacity somewhat limited, the single drawer pull-out design offers some advantages when it’s combined with the other tower modules. Strength in numbers if you will. Still, if you want to use the single drawer toolbox as a stand alone container, it will certainly work. And maybe quite well if it matches up with the application. But for me, it was designed to be part of a tower, and should be used as part of a tower. In that context, I’m happy to recommend with a strong 4-star rating. Deducting 1-star because of the drawer latch. I hope this has been helpful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **************************************** ANNYION DOUBLE DRAWER ORGANIZER TOOLBOX This double drawer organizer is the ideal storage solution for small parts, fittings, and accessories of all types. Each of the two low profile drawers has been fitted with plastic dividers at the factory that partitions the space into 9 individual compartments, each measuring approximately 4.5” (W) x 3.5” (D) x 1.75” (H). Alternatively, the dividers can be removed**, to expose a single open space, with dimensions of 14” (W) x 11” (D) x 1.75” (H), or approximately 270 sq inches of storage space. Although the available space in each drawer is reasonably generous, the low ceiling will limit the range of items that can be stowed (i.e. no taller than 1.75”). For example, my cordless drill/driver won’t fit inside, even when the battery is removed. But simple hand tools like wrenches, pliers, and ratchet drivers are no problem. ⚠️ ** NOTE: Although the listing indicates the dividers are removable, and they are indeed designed to be removable, the vertical dividers are blocked at the back end by a solid overhang. One solution would be to first remove the drawer. However, I have yet to find a release on the slides that would separate the two halves of the mechanism. And there’s no mention in the listing that the drawers can be removed. Nor was any kind of user manual provided with the product. So for now, any attempt to remove the dividers (or the drawer) is on HOLD. Like all of toolboxes that are part of the ANYYION modular stacking system, this double drawer model has the following features: ✅ Above average build using quality polypropylene (PP). The plastic is thick enough to counter the natural flexibility of PP. In other words, the structural framework is solid. In addition, the material appears durable, and should provide good impact resistance against cracks and chips. ✅ Durable steel hardware for selected moving parts. In this case, ball bearing sliders on each side of the two drawers. The slides are characterized by smooth, gliding action. And are firmly anchored to the side of the drawers with metal clips. ✅ Fully compatible with the interlocking modular system for ANYYION products. It consists of a clip (top) and receiver (bottom) on each side of the container that “snap” into place when one container is stacked on top of another. The connection is secure, yielding a storage tower with minimal floor space requirements. My overall impression of the double drawer toolbox is favorable, with two exceptions. ❗️DRAWER/LATCH ALIGNMENT❗️ Unfortunately, the bottom drawer was jammed when I tried to open it. Presumably due to the latch hook not clearing the strike pin on one or both sides. I eventually got the drawer open after repeated attempts. But once closed, it would jam again. Although I can’t confirm the cause at this time (the parts involved are hidden), I did notice that the bottom drawer is out of alignment along the lateral axis; i.e. the left side is lower than the right side (when view from the front, see pics). So it’s possible the issue has more to do with the fit & finish of product assembly vs a failure of the plastic latch mechanism. Regardless of the cause, the bottom drawer is not functional in its present condition. ❗️WELD LINE DEFECT❗️ The bottom of the container has a distinctive blemish that appears as a long streak or seam in the plastic. From the location of the blemish relative to gate impressions (i.e. the ports used for injection molding), the most likely explanation is a “weld line” defect in the plastic. This occurs during the cooling phase of injection molding when two flow fronts partially solidify before they’ve had a chance to seamlessly blend. Although weld lines can sometimes be nothing more than a cosmetic flaw, they are more commonly associated with areas of weakness. Especially when exposed to force from impact or repetitive use, like at the bottom of a toolbox. NOTE: Similar weld lines are evident in the ANYYLON 3-tier and one drawer storage toolbox/containers that were reviewed earlier in this thread. 👍 RECOMMENDATION 👍 I really like the concept of this ANYYION Double Drawer Storage Toolbox/Organizer. Regardless of how it’s used (i.e. with or without the partitions installed, stacked or stand-alone), I think there’s something here for everyone. And that’s the kind of versatility that elevates the overall performance. I just hope the problem that I had with the bottom drawer jamming is a one-off occurrence, unique to the unit that I received. If so, I’m happy to recommend with a 4-star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ... show more
