Not sure why they mention "flashlight." Too small to really act as a level, but it sometimes does. And to keep crud from getting on exposed hot shoe contacts, they're ace and cheap.

This is great to keep your hot shoe protected it also adds a little cool factor to your camera as well and it comes in handy when you are nailing the shot.

    • Good price, fit nice and snug in the Nikon D700 and Fuji X100
slapped these two on my Nikon D700s, because who knows where the stock little black ones are. And sometimes I use them when my cameras are mounted on my tripod and the level built into my ball head is covered. Simple, kind of a hard-ish rubber, not plastic so they fit nice and tight, with a bit of grip to them so there is a very little chance these will come out on their own, also have one from another order mounted to my Fuji X100. ... show more

I bought this for both my Nikon d810 and my Nikon d3200. This purchase was more of a "protect my hot shoe" thing from possible moisture, seeing I lost the originals. They fit snug and no not impede any pop-up flash functions.

These protective inserts for a Nikon DSLR work enough to protect the hot shoe. The rubbery texture however causes them to slide slightly in the hot shoe.
