  • Medieval Upper Armor
The upper armor is really nice. I'm glad I got it. 👍

  • narrow fit/shipping
the item itself deserves 5 stars. however, the shipping process was a headache. i paid for overnight shipping, and received it nearly 2 weeks later. (i received a second item as compensation). the item is great, the construction is phenomenal. it is a bit slim, for a 6”3 230 pound man it’s a little narrow but the metal is thin enough so it can be bent into shape. one of the leather straps ripped, so don’t be too rough with them. (easy fix) otherwise it’s worth the money. ... show more

  • Decent budget cuirass+backplate - will need altering to fit those under ~6ft5/200lbs
I decided on grabbing this as my cuirass/backplate for an Italian-ish period outfit to use at the rennfest and light sparring. While I'm not on a super tight budget, I also did not want to spend thousands of dollars for a set of Italian-ish plate armor. I had a feeling this would need altering to fit just right, and I was correct. The pictures made it somewhat seem like the upper plate and lower plates of the breastplate articulated, but they don't. Unfortunately, this makes the whole thing quite a bit too long in the vertical direction. This set, as it comes from the factory, would fit someone who is around 6ft5/200lbs just right. I am 5ft10, 150lbs and, with it on, was unable to bend my torso at all, as the chestplate ended right at my waist. Not ideal. Fortunately, I am a pretty handy dude. I popped all the rivets securing the upper plate to the lower plate, and moved the lower plate up as far as it would go. During this process, I also tightened the breastplate up on the sides, and added significantly more curvature to the metal 'shoulder straps'. After that, the chestplate fitment is near perfect - It now ends right above the navel, allowing me to bend my torso nicely. The breastplate actually grabs the torso quite nicely now. I even think it looks better now. I'd like to point out that the material is 2mm thick per plate, so the breastplate is actually 4mm thick where it overlaps, providing pretty decent protection for what I believe to be mild steel. I will have to cut and re-bend the backplate at the lower edge to get it to line up correctly again - once I do that, I will update this review with pictures and hopefully, a picture of the full kit (still waiting on my leg armor, but it should be here this week). I will also be adding a stoprib of some sort down the line, and will update with pictures afterwards. ... show more

  • Handsome and authentic
Arrived much earlier than projected, in excellent shape. Back plate and breast plate very handsome, with tassets. (Although the description didn't include the tassets, they were there just as in the illustration.) I'm not planning to wear the set, but they make a superb display in the tavern I repurposed from my barn. ... show more

  • Functional cuirass with fauld-build quality above price point
The media could not be loaded. Takes dents rather easily because 18g steel, but the piece is solid and easy to repair. The fauld has tight tolerances and can turn a sword point without it slipping through. The Tassets are good if you choose not to wear cuisses but you should remove them if you do. I recommend bending in the area around the inside of the arms to allow the arms to cross in front of the body. Overall a great piece ... show more

  • Brilliant
The is a very nice piece. It is a bit tight if you are a bigger person or if you have layers (gambeson/chainmail) but it will flex to your form. It was definately worth it. I think anyone will be pleased with this. The straps are sturdy, its a tight fit, and it looks better than this advertisement looks to be honest. I am happy with my purchase, thank you. ... show more

  • Looks cool, but a bit slender
It's definitely worth the money. It looks great from the front. I do have a few minor issues: - Some of the folds in the metal leave very sharp points. Be sure to trim and file these. I tore a hole in a shirt trying it on. - The front and back seem a bit mismatched. The front is considerably longer than the back. The straps don't line up perfectly until a bit of bending is done. Just a bit weird. - It's pretty slender. Anyone with a more burly physique will have gaps on the sides. The straps are long enough, though. Overall, I love it. Fits me great, fits my armor stand mannequin great as well. I place a gorget over the top with some pauldrons attached. Really fantastic. ... show more
