Description

Antaeus Cologne by CHANEL, antaeus is a men's woody chypre fragrance with woody, smoky, leather, balsamic, and aromatic main accords. It has heavy to enormous silage and long lasting to very long lasting longevity. Launched in 1981, This scent was created by grasse-trained Jacques Polge, the head perfumer at CHANEL from 1978 to 2015. Myrrh and clary sage lead the top notes, along with bergamot, coriander, amalfi lemon, and lime. Rose dominates the heart notes, with contributions from jasmine, basil, and Thyme. Castoreum rules the base notes, followed by French labdanum, oakmoss, and patchouli.

Not too much to say…it’s kinda pricey but my wife and daughter both love it so here we are. More of a date night fragrance than everyday maybe. Not overpowering. It’s my current favorite. Maybe buy a sample size first.

Antaeus is one of the best scented cologne in today's world. It seems the colognes are loosing their longevity after application. I guess the evaporation of the product is sped up. I would love to see a product that last 8 hours, you know what I mean.

In my opinion this is currently Chanel's finest men's fragrance. It is a rich and complex woody scent with subtle floral notes. Descriptions are near impossible beyond stating that this is a beautiful composition that is long lasting. A little goes a long way. Definitely for a sophisticated man, not a youngster.
