  • I liked this movie!
I like this movie and don't really understand all of the hate it's received. I know that some folks didn't like that it's almost all CGI, but, how else can you portray a sub-microscopic world? Granted, it's not as funny as the other two, because Paul Rudd didn't have as much input because it was supposed to be the kickoff of the Kang Saga and that had to be taken care of in a way that would work within the greater storyline with upcoming movies, until Jonathan Majors went and got himself fired. Even though there's not going to be a Kang Saga after all, it's still a Must Have for us Marvel Studios collectors and fans! ... show more

  • Fun for the Fans!
Peyton Reed’s 2023 film, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” is the third entry in the Ant-Man franchise and the 31st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This threequel revisits Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Pym (Evangeline Lilly), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” with Scott having played a key role in undoing the Snappening and saving the universe. Riding high, he soon finds that his daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton, the third actor to portray the character), is in trouble resembling his own past. Despite her criminal tendencies, it turns out she has an aptitude for the Pym Tech and has found a way to survey the Quantum Realm without directly going there. As anyone knowledgeable about the Heisenberg uncertainty principle can explain, she ends up having a direct impact leading to all of the main characters being drawn into the quantum realm. There, they find that Janet never revealed exactly what she experienced while trapped in the realm. She met a traveler named Kang (Jonathan Majors) and discovered truths about him. Scott and Cassie initially meet some rebels led by Veb (David Dastmalchian), Jentorra (Katy O’Brian), and Quaz (William Jackson Harper), but are captured by Kang’s forces and M.O.D.O.K. (Corey Stoll, returning to the franchise since portraying Darren Cross in the first film). Meanwhile, Janet Hope, and Hank travel to find their wayward companions through contacts with Lord Krylar (Bill Murray). The story builds to a search for a McGuffin and various double-crosses, resulting in a giant battle royale as befits the MCU following “Endgame.” Kang’s reveal and villainy are all the more powerful given recent news about Majors’ own actions with those who trusted him. Reed’s film not only revisits plot threads from the previous two Ant-Man films, but also ties into events from the first season of the “Loki” television series as well as “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” laying the groundwork for Phase 5 in the MCU and the Multiverse Saga. He also features some nice cameos from Randall Park as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo (appeared in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and “WandaVision”) as well as an end-credit scene that further connects to MCU TV shows and the Multiverse. The film is a lot of fun in the goofy, pulp sci-fi way of the classic “Ant-Man” comics. At times, the effects are somewhat middling compared to previous MCU films, but the overall story and tone are great for fans of the character. Bonus features on this Blu-ray include an examination of the lead actors’ character development, a look at the film’s villains, audio commentary, a very short gag reel, and two deleted scenes. ... show more

  • Not a movie review
Given the subjective nature of movie preferences and individual reviews, this assessment aims to provide an overall product review rather than a movie-specific critique. The following paragraphs will focus on different aspects of the product, including the visual quality of the disk, its functionality, the completeness of the package, the included paperwork and digital code, and the durability of the plastic case. Upon visual inspection, the disk exhibited no noticeable flaws or defects. There were no visible scratches, blemishes, or imperfections that could detract from the viewing experience. The visual quality appeared to be satisfactory, providing an enjoyable visual presentation when played in the appropriate device, such as a Blu-ray player. In terms of functionality, the disk performed admirably. There was no indication of imbalance or burrs in the bore that could affect its performance or cause disruptions during playback. The disk played flawlessly in the Blu-ray player, delivering a seamless and uninterrupted viewing experience. Considering the package contents, the absence of instructions typically provided with this type of media was observed. However, it can be assumed that the plastic case containing the disk(s) was complete, as no components were missing upon initial inspection. This allowed for immediate access to the movie and its accompanying materials without any inconvenience. Furthermore, the package included the necessary paperwork and a digital code that could be redeemed on the Vudu platform. The redemption process went smoothly, without any issues encountered. Additionally, the plastic case used for storing and protecting the disk(s) demonstrated sturdy construction and thoughtful design. It showed no abnormalities or defects that could compromise its functionality or durability. Thus, the case is expected to effectively safeguard the disk(s) under normal use for an extended period, ensuring their long-term preservation. In conclusion, based on the visual quality, functionality, package completeness, accompanying paperwork and digital code, and the durability of the plastic case, the overall product evaluation indicates a satisfactory experience. ... show more

  • Good Movie, Strange Delivery, Damaged Case
The movie itself is good. Not the best MCU film, but not the worst either. It was fun to watch with an excellent cast. I received an email that the item was delayed. When it arrived, there were two different packages with different tracking numbers. One was empty. When checking the tracking information, the empty one was shipped first, and the other one the next day. Both arrived on the same day. I assume that they realized they sent an empty package and fixed it? Either way at least it did arrive. In these troubling times, however, an empty package in the mail is a bit troubling. More importantly, if the item had not been in shrink wrap, and the disc looked to be in good condition, I would have thought it was used. The outer sleeve was beat up and the inner plastic case was crushed and cracked. Since I buy these movies on Bluray for my collection, I obviously would prefer if it was in as good shape as the rest of my Blurays. Disappointing. Hence the lowered rating. ... show more
