I did try it on prior to washing and drying in the machines. It fit as expected. it came just below the waist of my pants. It wasn't a tight fit. the shirt fit with a little room. The shoulders were pointy, like it was held up by something. The sweater was very soft and felt nice on my skin. After washing and drying the sweater it shrank.
