When I first switched from an ink jet printer to one with a toner cartridge, I loved the savings in buying ink. At some point, I got an error message, and I kept replacing the toner cartridge. Finally I realized, when that was not working, that I needed to replace the DRUM. Honestly I didn’t even know what that was. After a Google search I ordered a Brother brand drum at over $50 for one. Never again. Now that I’ve done more research I know I can purchase other brands, such as this one, and they will do the same thing, often times for less than half the cost. This drum worked well with my toner cartridge and was easy to install. Print quality did not diminish by changing to this drum, so I will say the print quality has to be good. Every 12,000 or so copies, you will need a new drum, so it’s a great idea to have a couple of these on hand because 12,000 comes faster than you think (really fast if you’re a teacher like me) and you don’t want to run out when you absolutely have to get something printed. I would order this drum again. It’s a good product that will allow you to begin printing again when yours is done. ... show more

I was a little hesitant to purchase an off brand to replace my Brother drum, but, at 1/3 the price of an original Brother brand and receiving 2 units I thought I would try... I am happily surprised of the packing, the quality and the use of the item, would definitely recommend.
