I've been a fan of and using Anker products for several years and they've become one of my go-to companies for tech products. The 14-port hub did not fail to impress me. I needed additional USB-C ports for my desktop computer, so I began my search. I looked at several styles and brands and settled on the Anker docking station because it had the number of ports I wanted and the price was reasonable. I appreciate that there are both charging and data ports on the front panel, which makes for easy access. I often use a USB-C external hard drive for data transfer, and my device easily plugs into the front of the device. I also have a couple of USB-A dongles for a mouse and keyboard which I rarely need to remove, so these plug into ports on the back of the docking station. There is also a display on the front that can be switched to show power draw when charging a phone or data speed when transferring files. A button on top switches between then displays. I use a fast charge Thunderbolt cable even though this device is not a Thunderbolt dock. I can watch my iPad charge with up to 19 watts of power. My computer does not have a Thunderbolt port, so I wasn't looking for a rated Thunderbolt device, but what this device does do is deliver quality performance efficiently. I don't qualify as a "power user" as I'm not running multiple monitors or doing complex video editing, but I'd guess this product has more capacity than how I use it. As said, I can charge a tablet, transfer video files, and still have extra ports for when I need them. This product meets my needs and I recommend it. Once again, Anker delivers.

This Anker Prime docking station is a beast for anyone trying to manage a lot of peripherals. I have two monitors, a keyboard, a wireless mouse, a phone charger, and an ethernet cable all plugged into this one unit, and it handles the load without breaking a sweat. The best part was the setup—it was true plug-and-play with zero drivers or software to install. While the price tag is on the higher side, the build quality and performance make it a worthwhile investment for a serious desk setup. - Seamless Setup: Simple plug-and-play experience; my laptop recognized everything immediately without needing any extra configuration. - Port Variety: With 14 ports, I was able to consolidate all my devices into a single hub, which really cleaned up the cable clutter on my desk. - Audio Quirk: I did experience an echo when my headset was plugged into the dock's audio jack, but moving the connection directly to the laptop solved the issue. - Worth the Cost: It’s pricey, but you’re paying for reliability and the convenience of a high-speed, multi-functional workstation hub. Verdict: If you need a heavy-duty docking station that just works, this is the one to get.

I’m a huge Anker fan and when my Dell docking station for my work laptop died, I decided to look at what Anker had to offer. I found this docking station and it seemed to fit everything I was looking for in a replacement. I’m using it with a Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 for Business. Outputting to 2 screens via the two HDMI ports and 3 USB A devices (web camera, keyboard/mouse, Plantroincs headset). So far I’ve had zero issues after weeks of use with anything working as expected. The docking station has also left me a little room to grow with a USB A port and 2 USB C ports still available. The icing on the cake with this docking station is the additional USB A & C ports for charging on the front of the device. I’m using the USB A port to charge my wireless headset and one of the USB C ports to keep my iPad Pro charged. Charging these additional devices and my laptop is only around 30W of usage, so plenty of room to charge my phone and other devices as needed. What do I like about this docking station? It’s very compact on my desk, taking up a tiny footprint of space. The screen is a nice addition to know what’s being charged and at how many watts. For my work setup, I also think it has the perfect number of each type of port, allowing me to connect everything I need. I was also expecting from a temperature perspective it could get hot, but overall it’s been cool to the touch. What could be improved? Very little. I wish the screen would stay set on the mode you set it to. I’ve noticed if I toggle to the screen to show the watts output, after awhile it toggles itself back to what it’s providing per port. Another nice to have from a screen standpoint would be the devices temperature. Some of Anker’s newer chargers show this. The only other thing that would be nice is if it shipped with a larger USB C to C cable to connect to your laptop. I setup my docking station originally too far away from my laptop and had to move it closer. So plan on keeping it around 3ft away. Overall it’s a fantastic little dock.

I really like this device... I moved from a "no name" system that worked very well, but didn't provide enough power to my new laptop. Pros: *Front info screen shows total watts and port by port demand. Super cool. You can also turn it off by holding the button down *Really interesting to see how devices reduce their power demand as they charge to 100% *There are data ports and simple power ports on the front of the device. It's great that there are power only ports (USB C and A) *The device is fairly small - some people have complained it is too big, but except for it being vertical and not horizontal, I don't think it is too big *Network connection has been totally stable *Video signal out to an LCD screen running at 120Hz (1080p) has been totally stable Cons: *No display port - only HDMI *No SD card reader *Stands vertical - I guess you could lay it down, but then the display would be sideways *Runs a little warm, but not too bad *The speed (while noted at 10 Gb/s) is not Thunder bolt 4 quality (40 Gb/s) Over all, I am very pleased with the purchase, and may get another unit or two for my other installations. This docking station is an absolute life-saver. Setup was a breeze for this (plug it in, plug your peripherals in and you’re going) and has substantially eased moving from laptop to my workstation. It offers ample ports, fast connectivity, and seamlessly integrates with my daily peripherals to provide a single, simple, powered connection to my laptop. It takes up very little space on my desktop as well. Overall, this is a great product and meets the standard that I’ve come to expect from Anker.

After switching to a USB-C-based setup, I initially tried to save money by going with cheaper hubs from Best Buy. I quickly learned that was a mistake. The first hub I tried, around $70, couldn't even reliably handle MS Teams calls. I could join meetings, but video wouldn't load, audio was choppy, and no one could hear me on the other end. Hoping it was just a low-end issue, I upgraded to a $120 hub. Unfortunately, that one wasn't much better. Teams calls would lag or drop entirely, and it even caused noticeable lag with my Logitech MX mouse and keyboard, which was incredibly frustrating for daily work. That experience finally led me to the Anker hub, and the difference has been night and day. The functionality is rock-solid for my type of work (video calls and extensive work in the MS suite). It also doesn't require a bulky external power brick, which makes cable routing cleaner and simpler. Of course, it also looks sleek and feels solid on my desk. My setup is straightforward: an HDMI-connected monitor, Logitech MX-series peripherals connected via a Bolt USB receiver, and a wired ethernet connection (my Wi-Fi router doesn't reach my office well enough). The Anker hub handles it all flawlessly. If you prioritize reliability and can justify the cost, it is well worth it.

UPDATE: I've had this for less than a week and my initial experience was mostly positive. But then it stopped playing nice with my Mac (M1 chip). Specifically, I have to plug my monitor's USBC cable directly into my Mac and not via the docking station for it to work. I've tried everything to address the issue (including unplugging everything, entering commands into the terminal, etc.), and I've had it. Sending it back. This is a great little beast of a docking station! I love how sturdy and non-ugly it is, and how little space it takes up. My complaint - and the reason why I didn't give it five stars - is because though it claims to be able to dedicate up to 100w to charge devices that are connected to its three downstream ports, when I plugged the charging cable that my mac came with into each of the these ports (USB-C), the message I received from my laptop was that it was charging very slowly and that I ought to use a proper charging cable. However, when I plugged that same cable into the base that the cable came with, my computer charged without issue. And note that the power number displayed on the dock was only 11w prior to plugging the cable, so it's not like it was overloaded. All that to say, if you're seeing that it has up to 100w of power to charge things, that certainly wasn't my experience.

Worth the money. replacing my old dell dock that was under powered. My laptop requires 90w to run and charge - this dock works great. Several actual USB C ports and charging ports are great. Compact and solid so far. This one unit replace the old dock, plus external power brick, and the specific charger that has enough power. Now it just this one unit. 10 out of 10.
