I tend to travel a lot and have the odd need for HDMI connections, whether it’s in a conference room or the hotel so I can watch a movie. I used to carry a retractable HDMI cable but it was expensive and broke, so I was curious to see how this could work. Overall, it’s typical Anker high quality and easy to use. Plug in one end to the iPad/Macbook, the other end into the HDMI slot. There’s a USB-C in that does power (power only as far as I can tell) so I can charge while watching (helps when USB-C ports are a minimum). Quality output and had zero issues with anything I was viewing. It even worked well when I decided to try to use my hotel TV for photo editing on my MacBook as a very large second screen. The price I thought was fair and worth getting when Anker has one of the regular sales. Overall I’m fairly happy - it’s good to have in a travel bag and you may not use it regularly but will be happy when you do indeed use it. ... show more

Works great, used with both a Samsung S10 and Samsung S25. Both phones gave an unsupported resolution warning, and the desktop looked a little fuzzy. But once we went full screen with our movie apps, the picture looked fine. We were using a Toyota entertainment center screen. NOTE: you may want to purchase a small extender cable, as the hdmi plug on this model is wide and large. I couldnt plug into my Roku TV nor my Toyota without the extension. Also note, S25 wired DEX mode is in settings, you need to search for it. Loved this device, seems solid build quality, and worked flawlessly for two 10 hour drives. I love it for cable management, it allows me to hide my laptop charger behind my monitor. The display quality can be lacking on inexpensive usb-c HDMI dongles but this one is giving me an excellent picture. It would be great if they could add an ethernet jack and an usb-A port but keep this form factor. Worked great on a trip to watch things on the hotel TV from the iPad. Be warned it is not HDCP compliant for apple like their own (overpriced) adapter is, so some apps won't allow output (Formula 1 F1TV is a pain!)
