The Anker has a nice latching mechanism that connects around a horizontal vent fin. I am cautious though to tighten it too much, for fear it may break the fin -- but it doesn't need to be. It holds very firm with minimal pressure, has not "backed out" (causing it to be loose) and the phone snaps right into place and charges away in my Dodge Challenger. Great phone charger. It charges the phone fast. The magnet holds the phone great without it dropping off. The plug in cord is long so you are able to place it where ever you want.

I have tried probably 4-5 MagSafe phone holders and this is by far the best. I love the way it clasps into and tightens to the vent rather than just a cheap clip like most. The magnet is strong and it charges fast. I also love anker products in general, very trustworthy brand with high quality products and meets Apple specifications for fast charging and safe charging for battery health and longevity.     • Charger works well, doesn't use standard 17mm ball mount
The charger overall works well, there are just some things I hope that Anker updates in a future version. The cable is not detachable and the magnets could be a bit stronger. Also this charger does not use a standard 17mm ball mount (its closer to 17.75mm), so you can't use this charger with existing 17mm mounts you might have. ... show more

This is a great dock and has been a huge improvement over my dock that mounted to the CD slot in my car. Love that it charges my phone as I drive, it holds strong, and I can rotate the phone in any direction. The only downsides are that it can limit the vent movement, and you need to do some cord management, but I understood this when I purchased it. ... show more
