We do a fair amount of off grid and adventure camping and we have found that the standard cigarette lighter plugs can not be trusted to remain plugged in while driving, especially over rough terrain, so we have switched most of our standard 12V plugs to Anderson style connectors that will remain connected until you disconnect them. These plugs are well made and easy to put together. The construction quality is very good and everything works as expected. I do recommend and I would buy these plugs again.

If you're looking at these, you probably need something that does roughly what this does. Panel mount, through-panel for most likely a low voltage DC application. The weather-resistant covers are fine, they appear to be fairly thin silicone, and while they don't look like they would hold up to heavy duty use, they should be fine for occasional use in a location that is occasionally splashed. I would not feel comfortable using these in an automative/marine application that sees water spray or even rain though. True Anderson PP 15-45 are rated at 45A of sustained use at a reasonable temperature with #10 wire. They are also rated at up to 750 amps for 4 seconds, to give an idea of how much more they are capable of surging in intermittent use. I'm not sure these are authentic Anderson though. The Anderson PP15s I have on hand use a more opaque plastic, which makes me skeptical if these are authentic. They may be, but personally, I would not push the 45a sustained limit on these without doing some more testing. For the money these seem like fine panel mounts for casual use. I just wouldn't put them in a highly exposed environment, and I wouldn't push too much voltage or current through them, as I'm unsure they would meet Anderson specs.

Very very tight fit mating up to real Anderson connectors. I need to pass some current through and test for heat with a thermal camera.

These are excellent. I removed the cigarette lighter outlets in my truck and installed these. I did have to ream the panel hole very slightly, but not a big deal. Installed, it looks like a professional job, like it shipped from the factory exactly like that! Thank you!

Plastic nut that holds it to the case slips threads and comes off under the slightest tension or stress.

This is exactly as described. These plugs are well made and easy to install. The housing is plastic and includes a gasket to seal against the panel. It is a durable replacement for 12V/24V cigarette lighter. It fits the standard 12v Auto and RV sized openings.

I love using Anderson connectors, and I recently built a battery box I use in my inflatable boat. I needed a way to connect external equipment to the box without opening it. These panel mounts provided a nice and neat solution for that. They work extremely well, and installation is super simple. Drill a hole, drop it in, and you're done. I do use a pigtail on the outside so I have enough connectors to handle everything. This makes it super simple to pack up later when I'm done for the day. I just throw everything in the box and take it into the house. So far, the connector appears to hold its own. It's seen daily use in the salt air and water and shows no signs of issues. When I installed it, I put dielectric grease on it to help keep it from corroding. If you have any connectors or wires that are exposed to the elements, I would strongly suggest using this. It seriously prolongs their life. The panel mounts are an excellent buy and worth the price if they are what you need. With a little preventive care, they should last you quite a long time.
