The product arrives well packaged. It is the size indicated in the description. It was too heavy for me to lift on and off the stove and the edges are very sharp, so there is a cut hazard unless you plan to keep in on a counter top in one place. This cassrole has been a lifesaver. Its is the prefect size to make a cassroles or any other recipes that you want to make a smaller serving. And not have alot of leftovers. I have had the 1-quart size since before there were computers or Amazon. It is one of my go-to bowls. It is heavy, retains heat, and I love it has a lid. I often half recipes because I only cook for 1-2 people, so it's the perfect size. I also use it to bake things such as chicken or fish. I've baked bread in it. It does well in the dishwasher. With the holidays approaching, I bought this larger size to have on hand. It is the same quality as my smaller one. If you need a gift for a newlywed, I strongly suggest these casserole dishes. Ignore these pictures of shattered casserole dishes. Anyone who knows how to cook knows once you put the casserole dish in the oven you cannot pour cold liquids in it or it will shatter. That's not related to the quality of the product that is lack of knowledge about this type product by the person cooking. This dish has the same size and thickness as the one I have had 24 years.
