Right out of the box it was at 99% charged and ready to be used. It’s super cute and surprisingly powerful. I used it right away. I have very course, thick hair and it shaved my hair with no problem. I love this!

Doesn't get as close a shave as foil shaver or manual razor, but it gets very close shave that looks like maybe half a day's growth shadow on head. Somebody younger or certain style might want closer but this is good length for four days or more. It will cut every day, no fuss though. Battery charge respectable. QUIETER motor which is really cool in apartment or less private spaces. It did snag my sideburn pretty taught just before typing this review, but generally seems like it cuts beard okay. For head shaving specifically, it has performed very nicely and I did trim off some body hair a few times successfully....Update: when it dies from battery drain, it can be spectacularly bad if mid shave...I'll spare details, beware. ... show more
