This necklace is so pretty in its photos, and it's pretty in real life too. Unfortunately you have to look very closely to see its beauty because it is tiny to the point of almost being invisible. "Dainty" doesn't begin describe how small this necklace is. When I put it on and looked in the mirror, I could not read my initial; it's that little. Also, the chain is short and a bit hard to hook, and the initial pendant does not move freely on it. On the plus side, the necklace is nicely gift boxed and includes a little velvet storage bag as well. If you like very tiny jewelry it might be great for you, but something this small just just doesn't work for me.

This is a very cute necklace. I love the dangling initial hanging from within the rectangle or octagon shaped border, as it makes the initial necklace unique from most you see. It also adds to the sparkle of the cubic zirconia used on the initial as the letter can move around a bit more. I chose this necklace to give to my grand niece to wear on special occasions, as she is still very young for jewelry, but it will look cute on her for sure. Size wise, this is truly as the seller described it - dainty and small. Dainty aside though, its design and its movement will make It a necklace people will notice, whether worn by a child or an adult. I took a couple of photos with a quarter coin in them - it helps me, at least, to better judge the size of the actual pendant part of the necklace. It is nicely gold plated, especially the chain, which was plated over sterling, as you can see in the one photo, a small heart is attached stamped 925, the number used for marking sterling. The chain is fine, but does not feel so fine that you might think it might break the first time you wear it. The pendant itself had no markings on it that I could see. I took a close up of the back side so you could see it. The small cubic zirconia stones look they are attached with prongs that should hold them sturdily in place, The necklace arrived secured to a card, placed in a cellophane type envelope, and then placed in a cardboard box. The chain looks as though it was terribly knotted when it arrived in the photo, but in fact, it was fine (in my case anyway. It came instruction card how to care for jewelry - no perfume, cosmetics, harsh chemicals, and not to wear it sleeping or in the shower, which is great advice for every piece of jewelry. My thanks to Amazon Vine and the seller for sending me this initial necklace for free in exchange for my honest review of it. If I could leave a fractional number of stars, I would have rated it about 4.8 stars, which I am rounding up to 5.

The letter pendant is VERY petite. A person will not be able to see what it is unless they are real close. If you're ok with that, then everything else is very nice. The design is unique and the stones are sparkly. I measured the chain at 16.5" (including the little lobster claw) plus it has a 2" extender. The chain itself is fine and dainty. It will hold up as long as you don't pull on it too hard. The tag on the chain is stamped 925 so you know it's sterling silver (plated with 14k gold for color). It's very pretty and I enjoy wearing it - it's nice for layering too!

The first impression on holding this in my hand was, "whoa, this is really tiny - was this clear in the ad?" So I immediately pulled up the ad and, I have to say, some of the pictures give the impression of a larger piece, but one picture makes it clear - the picture with the jewelry on the model's cheek is accurate - the piece really is very small. Small, by itself, is not necessarily bad, when it comes to jewelry. But, studying the quality of the plating, and the symmetry of the piece, and the details at the edges gives the impression that the manufacturer was struggling to produce a piece of the size without it becoming a blob. Like the shape of the initial looks a little sloppy, and the plating on the frame seems to be a little globby. When the piece is dangling while worn, the letter doesn't quite hang plumb; it's canted at a visible angle that takes away from its overall appeal. I think this piece could be manufactured well, but wasn't in the instance of the piece I have. I was extremely careful to remove the chain from the piece of cardboard it was mounted on for shipping. Nonetheless, the very delicate gold-plated chain has a visible kink in it. TL;DR Having held it in my hands, as I would at a jewelry store, I wouldn't make this deal at 17 bucks. Nor would I do it at 10. And below that I don't think I'd be interested.
