I just received this croquet set,and I do not regret my purchase. I bought it as a way to get family members together and have fun! I want to build relationships, make them stronger, and create lasting memories. I had a croquet set when I was much younger--and I remember the fun! I am 70 years young, and a grandmother--I want them to have the lasting memories that make me smile. This set is beautifully crafted, the wood is solid maple as advertised, expertly finished, and put together. It will last for many years. It came very solidly packed together. The balls were individually wrapped in protective plastic, and in a separate box with the hoops that are also very heavy duty. The handles for each mallet were also individually wrapped in plastic sleeves. The mallet heads are beautifully finished, with a shiny brass ring to protect from splitting, they were again each individually enclosed in a protective plastic bag, and in their own box. The rack that holds all the mallets, balls, posts and hoops is also a beautifully crafted piece,solidly built and I can carry it loaded--with one hand. The shipping boxes used are very strong cardboard, everything arrived in pristine shape, that includes the packaging. And--they included a sheet of how to play the game. Amish Toy Box--JOB WELL DONE!

Very disappointed in the quality of the balls considering the price of the set. They are low quality and not nearly as good as the ones of the sets I’ve used before. Not only are they of inferior quality but they lack the appeal in design as well. Overall the set is nice but had I known about the poor quality of the balls I would not have purchased the set.

This set is a gift for my wife. I did tons of research and this set seemed expensive, but still the best value for the money. I’m a firm believer in “you get what you pay for” and in this case that belief was reaffirmed. That said, I still wasn’t 100% sure what to expect based on the couple of negative reviews. After receiving and assembling the set I can confirm the beauty and craftsmanship are exquisite. It’s one of those things that once you get it unpacked and setup you just want to stare at because it looks so pretty. I haven’t given it to my wife yet but I can already tell she’s going to love it. I’ll update once we get a chance to play it. One other note. The manufacturer stands behind their product 100%. Our yellow mallet head had a minor chip near where the handle threads in and they agreed to send us a new mallet head free of charge. There was no arguing or “talking to managers” necessary. They just politely said “we’ll send one right out”. Money well spent.

When my 8-person 32" handle croquet set arrived I was very pleased with the overall quality and craftsmanship. The mallets are BEAUTIFUL! Solid maple construction, with woodturned detailing which really set these mallets apart from cheaper versions. The extra long handles are appreciated as well. Most members of our family are tall! The mallets and balls have a very nice weigh to them which should make play even more enjoyable. Some reviewers have noted the lack of sanding in the holes where the mallets are inserted. That is true ... but nothing that 15 minutes of hand sanding with a rolled piece of sandpaper couldn't fix. Not a big deal to me. Overall, I have thrilled with this set from Amish Toybox Co.

I am surprised with the quality of this set. It is definitely sturdy, durable and very well polished. I love the handle that makes it convenient to carry around. If it wasn't for my Amazon gift cards, I probably would've looked for something else. Better quality lasts for much, much longer. It's expensive, but I think it's well worth it.

Unfortunately one of the mallets came with no way to attach it to the arm. The slot had not been finished and there was no way to screw it in like the other ones. The replacement will not arrive in time for our charity croquet tournament. This was an expensive set - I expected more.

With the pandemic my family has found this enjoyable. We've changed it up and set the wickets around the yard like a Putt Putt course. On the weekends my son and I have played all day. We found the mallots to be both sturdy and light. Great buy for my family.

We travel a lot and Caribbean islands, many with heavy British influence, and they will often have sets similar to these. We have owned many flimsy "toy" quality croquet sets but I was determined to find a sturdy set, a large, adult size set, to have in our home to duplicate the quality craftsmanship we've enjoyed when we stay in resorts in the Caribbean. These fit the bill. They are lovely, sturdy, and we are so happy with this set. It is an investment but we look forward to years of enjoyment.
