I ended up using 10 or the 12. I had no major issues installing them and the 10 I installed work great. They look good and sit nearly flush with the ceiling. If you have texture or popcorn you will need to caulk. The suggested hole size is a bit too large. If you are cutting holes then get an adjustable hole cutter preferably with a debris collection bowl attached. Set it to the actual width of the light body that recesses into the ceiling. They didn't include bushing clamp for the junction box knockouts so you need to by 1 for each light. They are usually called electrical conduit fitting clamps or something similar. They fit into the knockout and have a thin nut that holds it to the box. It protects the Romex from getting cut on the box edges and clamps it to prevent it getting pulled out. The junction boxes walls are criminally thin. Like half the thickness of normal home use junction boxes. This makes them very sharp. Some of the edges had super sharp burrs on them. If you really wanted to do it right then buy junction boxes and remove the power supply from the trash boxes supplied and place it in a real box. Not mandatory but a good suggestion. The line out to the light is super short. You need to have the junction box right next to the light. For most people its probably not an issue but if you have wider spacing on your joists or rafters then you can run into big issues if you don't plan your holes near existing wood. Or you can nail in a cross brace and locate it right next to the hole. I do recommend these as the low price and function exceeds the negatives listed above. ... show more

I am a very big fan of these lights and this brand. They really do install super easily, look fantastic and produce great light. I like that they can be adjusted as well because though I set mine to 5000 my mother-in-law preferred 3000 when I installed some in her house. I have bought these lights several times now and in different models and i have been pleased every time. The longevity I don't know, that can't be rated for several years but so far so good. ... show more

Original review: I want to love these. They looks so good. Perfect size for our living room, put 4 on each side. Super easy to adjust which color we wanted. They work great most of the time. At least every few days they will flicker like crazy. And you have to turn them off and back to make it stop. Talked to an electrician who said one is probably bad. So....less than 4 months of use and will probably have to replace them all. Edit: I hadn't thought to reach out to the seller because it was months after I purchased when they started to flicker. After reading my review they reached out to send me a new pack of lights. They were super easy to switch out, and so far no more flickering! Thank you so much for making it right! ... show more

I purchased 60 lights for my office. Seven of them do not work properly. They flicker or stay on for only a few seconds or minutes and then go off. It has something to do with the circuit in the metal box. I switched out the box on a bad one and now it works. I also had about 8 of the plastic tabs that hold the clips break off, which made it difficult to seat them tightly against the ceiling. If you want to use these, I recommend buying extra because some will be defective. In the pic of my office, notice the two dead lights. ... show more

I did some research and found that there are only two manufacturers of this style of light. As long as they have the plastic cover over the spring clips (these happen to be orange), they of the higher quality models. That means that these are THE EXACT SAME MODELS as others you would find in big box stores with fancier names on the boxes. You are getting them for half the price here! They are bright, consistent, look clean, and are easy to install. Highly recommend!! ... show more
