My husband wanted a new desk with some storage shelves to hold his xbox, some games, Funko Pops, Amibos, and the like and the space to draw. This works well for that. It was smaller than I anticipated but my husband didn't mind. He had to assemble it and made sure to have little cups to organize the screws and such to make it easier on him. IT IS HEAVY in the box and it did have some bumps and dings on the corners but we don't mind. Considering it was raining when delivered and the box got wet, the desk still held and didn't warp!

Over the past year, I purchased this desk and had to exchange it three times due to damaged parts. I tried to exchange it again, but wasn’t allowed to for some reason. So, I finally decided just to keep the last shipment despite the damage because I needed a desk for work (I work from home) and school. These pictures are only of the damage I couldn’t cover up (not including the damage to the parts that I managed to cover). I love the desk - the functionality of it - but the material is very cheap and not worth the money I paid. I all shipments came in a timely fashion and the packaging was in good shape, so it’s not on Amazon. I think the company that sells the product doesn’t package it well, in addition to the fact that the material is not great. If you buy this, give yourself enough time to exchange it, get knew parts shipped to you, etc.

Summary of my initial review, which I wrote at ~3 months: Arrived looking good; as described. Impression of the assembly (which was done by someone else) was 3 or 4 stars out of 5 on difficulty/frustration/whathaveyou. Already had that "bubbling" of the "finish" that pressboard gets even though I had been being careful to avoid letting water sit on it. I got a lot of compliments on how nice it looked, pre-pandemic when I had people visit. A little wiggly when e.g. erasing. I've now had this desk for going on 3 years. It's great! I love it. Is it a little wobbly? Yes, but really only if whacked accidentally with a knee or something. I've only had very light things fall over as a result. Is the "bubbling" worse? Yeah. It's not badly warped (still basically entirely flat) but there is more of the desktop color worn away. But it has seen and continues to see a LOT of use. I finished college fully remotely and now I WFH, not to mention use in my free time. And I know a lot of the finish wearing away is due to the meals (most of them) that I have eaten/continue to eat there (e.g. condensation, spills, ...). The side part came loose from the main part after a year or two, but we split it apart and then re-attached it when I moved and it has stayed secure since, so if that happens to you, I recommend just reaffixing it. I did that part alone; it was not hard. I bought it because it was cheap, but even now that I'm not so broke, I have no real desire to upgrade when it meets my needs just fine. Note that I do not have a desktop computer (laptops instead). However, I used my sewing machine on it a couple of times, and it was steady enough for that, so I imagine it would handle things like desktops/all-in-ones or something like a printer just fine. So, definitely 5/5 stars overall for this price bracket.

Let's be real here - this is a particle board/laminate desk, it's nice for the price and does what it's supposed to do when assembled correctly. It's not solid hardwood, it's not pre assembled, and for $150 and with a little bit of common sense, it goes well above and beyond the expectations of a lowly grad student. Did it ship perfectly? No, but that's the shipper's fault not the manufacturer, and if you're confident that you're handy enough to put this thing together then you should be handy enough to do some minor touch ups/repairs. Mine came with a crack down the middle of the biggest piece (I think it was letter E?) but I'm planning on reinforcing it and was ultimately going to repaint it anyway. It took me about 1.5 hours to put together (I used all hand tools due to living in an apartment and not wanting to make too much noise in assembling), but if you've got a power drill and a hammer it'll probably take half the time. Half of the pieces didn't have labels to identify them, but using a process of elimination and some common sense it wasn't an issue. If you're wanting something fancier you're looking at a much, much higher price point. Overall, a great product and I would highly recommend.

I ordered two of these because my fiancé and I moved into a new place and we liked the style and price, and we both needed desks with upper storage space. I ordered mine first and he decided to go for the same one. Most desks with hutches cost a fortune. This desk is the perfect size- it isn’t too huge or overwhelming and the individual pieces are pretty lightweight. Unfortunately mine came with parts damaged- there’s a huge, obvious scrape through the wood on one of the pieces. Fortunately it’s on the underside of one of the upper shelves, but unfortunately I look up and see it all of the time. Otherwise the parts were intact and all of the screws were present which was the important part. Overall I’m happy with it.

So. It took me about 2 hours to put this desk together and I had to get help to stand it up. The particle board broke very easily, the support for the stand (middle bottom piece) snapped and I'm going to have to get wood glue to keep it completely steady.

Great desk! Assembly took a bit, make sure u have space to work and possibly an extra set of hands for moving and lining up the heavy boards. It was also difficult to find the letters on all the pieces as not all of them have stickers, some boards have writing on the edge and its very faint. Anyway, once its set up, it works like a charm. I am an author and bit of a chaotic mess when it comes to my desk, but theres plenty of space for all my chaos and it still offers a lot as far as under desk storage space and a multipurpose desk top area on the L lip part. Will be buying more furniture from here!
