I was in need of a smaller carry-on size piece of luggage for an upcoming Disney trip and any other trips where I wouldn't require my 28" suitcase. I had been eyeing this piece for a while, especially being a big Disney fan, but with no real plan to get one since I hadn't needed a smaller size before and I rarely fly and I also wasn't crazy about the price. I also had not ever owned a piece of American Tourister luggage before, but reading the reviews I knew it was most likely worth the cost. When I began to contemplate purchasing a smaller size I saw that this one was marked down to less than half of the retail value and I didn't even think twice to jump at the chance for that kind of deal!! I just received it today and I'm extremely pleased with it! It is a beautiful piece of luggage and is very well made and has plenty of room! I have yet to put it to the actual usage test to see how well it will hold up but just with the examinations I've already made I have no doubts that it will not disappoint! I'm also now very highly considering purchasing the matching 28" even though I have a nice 28" piece already, but having matching luggage, especially it being Disney themed, would just make traveling way more fun!!! ... show more

I gave this suitcase 5 stars because not only is it a beautiful Mickey Mouse design but it's also a very sturdy and good quality luggage. Sigh that's why it's so unfortunate that I have to return it now. This is NOT a carry on size. The description in the title says 21" when it's actually 23" including the wheels, which is part of the height requirement for airlines. I am taking Delta and JetBlue for my trip tomorrow and they both have carry on size requirements of no bigger than 22"L x 14"W x 9" H. The dimensions of this suitcase are 23" x 14.5" x 9.75", it's bigger than my other suitcase I have at home which I use for a carry on. So yes it's a very nice quality suitcase, but if you don't mind paying a checked bag fee for it, then don't waste time getting this. Otherwise they're gonna make you check this at the airport. ... show more

Suitcases have held up beautifully during air travel. I purchased clear PVC covers to protect them for our first flight, but the covers were torn (so I am certain the luggage was thrown around).
