UPDATE: I was able to use these as a carry-on on 2 Southwest flights. I love this luggage! I have the 21” Mickey and the 21” Minnie red polka dot and they’re beautiul and very well-made. I bought these to use on our trip to Disney, but I wasn’t totally sure if it was actually a carry-on size suitcase so I’ve measured it for you all to see. The actual dimensions are 23”x14”x10” so it will absolutely work as a carry-on if you fly Southwest, since their dimensions are 24”x16”x10”. I think it will be seriously close if you fly any other airline though, since Southwest allows the largest carry-on luggage. I hope this helps anyone else out who was wondering the same thing I was! ... show more

Purchased in April, held off on rating it until after a recent flight in May. The carry on is of exceptional quality, truly what you would expect from American Tourister. There seems to be some reviews that have issues with the size not being accepted as carry on size. Let me assure you that this has the exact measurements as any carry on you would purchase in a retail department store. It measures 23" high including the wheels, 14 1/2" wide and 9 " deep. I realize most Airlines state 22" x 14" by 9". We had no issues on a round trip Phila. to Orlando using American Airlines. It fit perfectly in the overhead compartment. ... show more

This is a very well made, and very cute suitcase. However, because the dimensions are incorrectly listed, this is NOT acceptable as a carry-on. Buyer beware that the dimensions shown are for only the interior of the suitcase, not the outside dimensions, which make this a 23.5 inch tall suitcase. If you're looking at this for a carry-on, as I did, you are going to be in for a shock when you arrive at the airport and have to check this bag. Why on earth luggage companies do not count the wheels as part of the dimensions when they know airlines DO is beyond my comprehension. There is no way I would have spent this much on a cute case for my daughter to carry to grandmas or sleepovers - the purpose was to fly, and CORRECT dimensions of this suitcase should be provided. Also, the depth dimensions are incorrectly listed as well - it's not 8 inches, it's a solid 9 inches, probably a smidge more, and that's without the expansion unzipped. If you're looking for a well-made small suitcase to do anything in BUT fly, this is a great one, but as a carry-on for a flight - - - look elsewhere. ... show more

I gave this suitcase 5 stars because not only is it a beautiful Mickey Mouse design but it's also a very sturdy and good quality luggage. Sigh that's why it's so unfortunate that I have to return it now. This is NOT a carry on size. The description in the title says 21" when it's actually 23" including the wheels, which is part of the height requirement for airlines. I am taking Delta and JetBlue for my trip tomorrow and they both have carry on size requirements of no bigger than 22"L x 14"W x 9" H. The dimensions of this suitcase are 23" x 14.5" x 9.75", it's bigger than my other suitcase I have at home which I use for a carry on. So yes it's a very nice quality suitcase, but if you don't mind paying a checked bag fee for it, then don't waste time getting this. My daughter loved this peice and was delighted to use it for her first airplane flight. Its very well made and really cute. After reading some conflicting reviews about size regulations I thought that this bag was going to have to be checked & was dissappointed, but to my surprise it fit just perfectly in the TSA bag sizer and was able to pass as carryon. These suitcases are great! I just got back from a trip to WDW and these were a big hit with everyone who saw them. They held up well with the baggage handlers. They hold an amazing amount of stuff. They maneuver easily. I feel like they check every box. The awesome Disney pattern makes the package complete. I got an amazing price on Amazon, WAY cheaper than any other retailer, and I shopped around A LOT. My only issue was that the red side picked up a lot of dirt when it was checked at the airports, but really if I had Scotch Guarded then before traveling that would have been avoided so that’s on me. I have not used this to travel yet. That being said, I have several pieces from American Tourister and this bag looks like it is the same quality as my other bags. All zippers work well and I absolutely love the red accents against the black. The front is a little expandable, although not all the way around the front. The pockets are roomier than they look. It seems a little top heavy or unbalanced but I pack with heavier items towards the bottom so I don't expect this to be an issue. I found it on another site on sale, then I checked here and found it $5 cheaper and Prime. So glad I bought this. We fly to Disneyworld this summer and this bag will be PERFECT! :) ... show more

It is nicest suitcase I have found. It is an American Tourister. Large size but has options to carry. 4 wheels, pull handle, carry handle on side as well as top. Older child could easily use. Note height in description, would be hard for a little child but could possibly use pull out top handle or walk on the 4 wheels. Surprised how light weight it is for it’s size.
