As a student of the American Martial Arts Institute, this DVD has been invaluable in helping me review some of the self defense techniques taught by the school. The demonstrations and explanations of the techniques to defend against an empty-handed attacker, an attacker with a knife, or a gun, are clear and easy to understand, and can even be practiced on one's own. I have been training with American Martial Arts Institute for over five years now. I will be testing for my black belt soon, and I have used this DVD in my preparation. This DVD has lots of different techniques, from take downs to self defense against guns. All of the techniques shown on the DVD are thoroughly explained. As a student of the American Martial Arts Institute, I found this DVD very helpful for a variety of reasons. It helped me during my testings, when I had to check my basic forms, katas, and many other techniques. During my time at the school, this DVD is by far the most helpful resource I have owned so far. It is an amazingly helpful DVD and is essential to anyone's martial art library. This DVD is very helpful for when I have to review self defense moves because it shows many examples of various self defense techniques. It perfectly explains and demonstrates moves such as take downs, come along/control techniques and moves against a gun or knife. I have found this DVD to be extremely helpful during my five years of martial arts training. It can be used by beginners as well as advanced students in martial arts.
