This moon shelf is nice but VERY rough. Like rough all over to the touch which is weird as I think a bit of sanding could have done wonders for the finish. It doesn’t feel splintery or anything at all – but VERY rough – like barnyard finish. Even the shelves that will hold my goodies are super, super rough. Not a fan of putting my stuff on such a finish because of bad friction and stuff so will have to put felt or rubber feet on everything first. Definitely not to be used with anything delicate. I might even sand this entire thing down first – of course, it will mess up the finish completely – but wow they should have sanded it before they stained it anyway. This unit can only be hung facing one direction as it already has the two support brackets on the back. I guess you could unscrew and move them if you really needed it to be hung in the opposite way, though. It is very light – that is a good thing at least. It’s very cute BUT the night after I hung it up, I woke up at 4:30 the next morning to it fall off my wall. The screws weren’t coming out of my walls, nope! It was the metal pieces the hook on coming off the back of the shelf. This turned out to be better than expected. The finish is very good. The stain is uniform. The wood is lightweight yet durable. It comes with 2 screws and drywall anchors. The Good: It's not a heavy wood, but it's solid enough that it doesn't feel as if it'll fall apart. The shelves will hold small chotckes and I like how it looks. The Bad: Hanging this was mofo some work. The screws that come with the package fit the two slider hooks at the back VERY tightly, so I had to move everything out so I could slide one side in and then tap the other side in to make it go into place. I use a product that has this logo and I absolutely had to had this shelf for my office. It comes with hardware already installed to hang it in the shape shown in the product image.
