There is an old saying: “You get what you pay for”. I purposely bought this product because it was the cheapest one on Amazon and I did get what I paid for. I assembled the inflator and used it on a basketball. It worked just fine, but when I removed the needle the assembly fell apart. I was able to reassemble it, but the fittings were no longer tight and, on future attempts, the air just went out of the connector and none got into the basketball. Lesson learned. ... show more

As long as you're not in a hurry this pump might just fit your needs. Some of pluses to this item: • Lots of needles and nozzles to fit your different types of sports balls • Good quality fittings • Small size makes it easy to store • A pressure gauge perfect for balls • Included hose gives you a bit of flexibility • The plastic housing seems firm, not flimsy But on the negative side, it takes a while to pump up any good sized ball. Much longer than your typical bike pump. Note you don't have to use the included hose, it just gives you a bit of an extension. Also, it appears that most of the air pressure still comes on the down stroke, not as much on the up stroke. So, overall well built but you do have to allow some time to make it work ... show more

It's always nice to carry a small portable pump set in your sports bag in case one of your sports balls need inflation. I'm usually either playing basketball or volleyball, so you can see where this can come in handy. It's got a nice assortment of inflation needles that I always seem to need. All in one box, quick little pump for balls or bike tires and more, you get extra needles and extenders, you could keep in the tube when not in use but have to take out to pump I just keep in little zip lock bag.

When I was a kid, a lot of the kids had pumps to inflate their bicycle tires, but not too many had the needle point nozzle to inflate basketballs and volleyballs. So they were sought out when the balls started getting soft. That memory gives me a special fondness for a pump like this. Granted, this pump is made of plastic and may not last for years and years, but right now it will do the job fine. It comes with five needle pointed nozzles and they are not going to break that often, so you will be in business for quite a while. As a kid, we had to guess when the ball was hard enough just from how it felt. This set comes with a pressure gauge, so you can be more scientific. Although I think most kids will still just judge the right pressure from how the ball feels. This pump is perfect for throwing into a sports bag or your car so you have one when you need it. It come with multiple tips and a pressure gauge. It would be nice if it has a case or bag to keep everything in one place. You could really just place the extra tips and gauge in a separate bag for storage. As a base you just need the pump, flexible hose, and a sports ball needle. There is a holder on the side for the flexible hose. I like the inclusion of the flexible hose since this is a small pump there is a good amount of movement while you are using it, which could cause the needle to get bent or break. The flex hose helps prevent damage to the needle. The construction feels solid for plastic and it should hold up in a sports bag. It is easy to use and will get the job done. It might take a while to inflate a completely deflated ball due to capacity. Overall this is a great sports pump to carry around in a sports bag so that you have it when you need it. ... show more

This pump is surprisingly small yet also surprisingly strong and easy to use. With little effort and little travel the pump quickly inflates all of my sports balls to their recommended pressures. The gage also works very well and eliminates the guess work I’ve been accustomed to. Up until now it’s basically been trial-and-error when it comes to finding the right pressure, i.e. inflate, squeeze, bounce…inflate, squeeze, bounce…repeat. I like that this is no longer an issue. The pump also comes with 5 needles, a small extension hose and 2 inflation nozzles for balloons, beachballs, pool-toys/rafts, etc. Having so many spare needles is nice in case the user tends to lose or break things, but even one should be enough if you moisten it before inserting, as recommended, and use the flex hose to prevent unnecessary force and bending from being applied to the needle during pumps. My first impression when the pump arrived and I opened the package was, "I'm sorry I ordered this thing!" I liked the pressure gauge and other attachments that came along with it however, I thought I'd be forever pumping up the balls. Surprisingly, the pump puts out a decent volume of air and so, didn't take nearly as much work as I anticipated.
