I have purchased an Amazon gift card sever times just recently a friend gave me one she found in her wallet like it was monopoly money lol but I do like how easy it is to upload these to your account when you get a physical amazon gift card once you scratch the back and see the code you go onto your account where it asks for your code and you put it in and within seconds it loads the amount of the card onto your account. Same thing if you do it electronically it's so simple, fast and easy to be able to gift someone so fast especially great for those last minute gift ideas or those birthdays/holidays where you forgot to get someone a gift within a couple of minutes you can be emailing the person an Amazon gift card of any amount you decide. I also love that once someone uploads the code into there account it can't be put into another. Meaning if I get a card put in my code and then throw away the card and someone else picks it up if they try to add the code to there account it won't allow it it'll say the code is already registered to another account and that prevents theift which makes me feel a whole lot better purchasing these also amazon customer service is wonderful so if something was to happen with a gift card I have no doubt that they won't help fix the issue. I never just buy things with my debit/credit cards directly. Amazon gives you 2% more purchasing power if you use a debit card and have linked your checking account to your Amazon account, and then use that card to reload with. Literally- LITERALLY- they are giving you $2 per $100 for FREE. The process is also as straight-forward and streamlined as one could realistically demand (I guess it'd be better if it sensed when and how much I wanted to load telepathically and then immediately did it, but only slightly). For some, this route will help them conserve money and foster/impose financial self-discipline. You can designate only so much to spend per month on Amazon, and see at a glance how much you have left. (Of course, the ease with which you can add more if you want to go over budget undermines this potential purpose if you already completely lack self-discipline.). If you have a household member, you could give them an allowance of sorts via this method, too, I reckon. But the sole reason I pay with my Amazon Gift Card 100% of the time is the 2% boost to my purchasing power. When you're poor (even when you're not: why'd you not take a 2% boost that is so trivally easy even if you were Trump or Bezos?), these sorts of bonuses can be more impactful than the low % might seem upon perfunctory reflection. The discounted Prime for being low-income is also nice. Thanks, Amazon! (that said, stop being a jerk about paying taxes and employees- everyone else matters, too) ... show more
