I like the Amazon Fresh capsules. I have tried nearly all of them now, including decaff (a excellent hig quality cheap dupe for actual Nespresso brand, which is like $40 for same amount!) and I was excited to see an Espresso Stong Dark Roast option (12/13!). It is good, but I expected a deeper flavor. It is kind of missing that "chew on a coffee bean" flavor that a good espresso shot has. I dont think it has anything to do with quality, it is just the roast level as I experienced similar with Nespresso. I love deep dark bold coffee, the stronger the better, but I dont want any bright tangy notes (leave that to light roasts and most mediums). This has a hint of tang, which is usually never present in a dark roast. But I am being very picky. It is good, and I would actually buy it again. Though now I need to make it side by side with their Espresso Dark Roast (9/13) to see which I like better. I made it at 2 ounces, and consumed it black. I nearly always drink my coffee black, unsweetened. I think it would be perfectly fine for use as a base for a fancy drink (cream, syrups, etc), which I am about to make after submitting this review (because now it sounds good once I thought about it, haha). I think it makes a pleasant 4 or 6 ounce cuppa as needed. But as a single 2 ounce, it is not quite what I was hoping for. But as I said, I would consider it again. I tend to really like Amazon brands, and their capsules are so far very reasonably priced especially in comparison to actual Nespresso name brand capsules with same overall quality. Solid 4 stars.

As an Italian who has cherished the ritual of daily espresso for my entire life, I have a deep appreciation for quality coffee. This product, however, has compelled me to write my first review ever about coffee – and for all the wrong reasons. It is, without exaggeration, the worst coffee I have ever tasted. In Italy, where espresso is an art form, this coffee would be considered a travesty. Here in the US, this is equally awful. The flavor was not just underwhelming; it was appalling. Lacking any semblance of the taste that define a true espresso, it tasted like a crude imitation of coffee, devoid of any redeeming qualities. I've had a broad spectrum of espresso experiences, from exceptional to passable, but this was a new low. It's hard to believe that such a product even exists on the market. The taste was so off-putting that it was a struggle to take more than a few sips. It was a flat, lifeless brew that left a lingering, unpleasant aftertaste. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. This coffee didn't just fail to meet expectations; it completely disregarded what espresso should represent. It's an insult to coffee lovers and a stark deviation from the vibrant, energizing cups I'm accustomed to in Italy. In summary, this product doesn't deserve even a single star. It's a stark reminder that not all that is labeled as 'espresso' is worthy of the name. A complete letdown and a product I would strongly advise against.

I love the Starbucks blonde nespresso pods but the price of pods adds up quick if you have more than 1 cup per day!! I use one of these and one Starbucks pod for my morning coffee. It tastes delicious and saves me $$. Thank you!

Delivery: Whomever delivered the package indicated the package was “handed to the purchaser.” This is not correct as I was not home. I am sure this is a mistake but is one worth mentioning. Capsules: These capsules are indeed aluminum which is really what works best in the Nespresso classic machines. I am thrilled to learn this. All capsules are in perfect condition. All capsules worked wonderfully in my Nespresso classic machine. (Well 25 have worked wonderfully as I am still making coffee. Taste: What a surprise. Now this capsule is rated at a 13 which is generally an “extra strong.” Yes it is an extra strong cup. I usually use this blend for flat whites or lattes and it tastes wonderful. If you are using it as a stand alone espresso you might consider it a bit rough but for blended drinks…excellent! Recommendation: Oh my yes I would purchase it again. For me the perfect cup in the morning is one of these capsules (extra strong) mixed with one that is a step down ( strong). Very surprised and happily so!

I am not an espresso or coffee expert, but I thought these were pretty good. And for literally about 1/3 the price of Nespresso capsules, these are an exceptional value with not much difference in taste. Certainly worth a try if you are tired of paying $40-$50 for 50 Nespresso capsules. I read a few reviews on the capsules being dented, and yes there a few dents in some as they are aluminum. However this is almost always the case as well with Nespresso pods usually having a few dented ones. It never affected the ability use the capsule in my maker. I will be getting these again.
