  • Best fire tablet yet
Surprisingly good performance I was concerned at first about the RAM only being 4GB But I haven't noticed any real limitations so far This this is very fast and smooth and responsive. The tablet does have few minor annoying quirks Like the power button and volume rocker and charge port layout. The build quality on this tablet feels amazing though. The folio keyboard and cover do make the tablet feel significantly heavier. Even just using the cover without the keyboard it feels a lot heavier l. The sound is not the loudest but it is adequate. The one real annoying thing I find about this tablet is the device dashboard button on the nav bar. If I am holding the tablet in portrait mode and trying to type may palm keeps hitting the button for the device dashboard. This tablet has much smaller bezels which is great and it is heavy so this contributes to the device dashboard button being pressed unintentionally. A simple update to make the device dashboard button moveable so it could be slid over just an inch would be nice. A better idea would be to have the device dashboard button auto hide itself whenever the onscreen keyboard is popped up. This way there is no chance of hitting it. It would be nice to be able to move it to the right side too. I also wish there was an option for gesture navigation instead of the nave bar. Something I had hard time getting used to with the newer Android versions but now have gotten so used to it I actually miss it. This tablet feels ultra premium in every way it just these minor annoyances. There is no reason to spend a lot of money on a premium iPad pro or other high end tablet unless you are a hardcore content creator. This tablet is pretty great for the price or is when on sale. ... show more

  • Great companion to the Fire Max 11
While it comes just short of being full size, and I do find myself making more mistakes than I would on a proper laptop keyboard, it's quite nice to type on, especially for something so thin. The trackpad, even, is serviceable, if a bit small. It attaches to the tablet very easily, and even sort of protects the bottom of the tablet from bumps since it protrudes from it. About the only thing you could really complain about is the lack of a backlight, but for the price that's an acceptable tradeoff, as you can, with a little practice, touch type on this pretty easily. The hinge as well, is quite nice, giving you a decent range of motion, but snapping nice and securely to the tablet when you don't need it. It can come off while setting it up if you're a little rough with it, but that's just a matter of being a bit mindful when you set it up. As a complete aside, and something I found quirky and amusing: This cover doesn't come with that standard pungent electronics factory smell. It appears to have been washed, or at least perfumed, as it has a slightly sweet detergent-like aroma emanating from it out of the box (and no, I don't go around sniffing my electronics, I could smell it just from having the thing in front of me). A nice touch, I guess? ... show more

  • So far I really like the keyboard case with a couple of reservations.
This case is much different than others I have bought for tablets. The tablet does not have to fit into a case, but connects to it by magnets. This is good in the sense that the case does not add bulk to the tablet, but when opening the case, it often disconnects from the tablet. This may be an inconvenience, but it's not a big deal in my opinion. So, what do I like about this keyboard case? 1) It is so easy to attach to the Fire Max 11. You don't have to fit it into a case. The case attaches to the back of the tablet with magnet and eliminates the extra bulk and weight of the conventional case. 2) The case can be used with or without the keyboard as the keyboard attaches with magnets that also keep the keyboard charged. 3) The kickstand on the case can be adjusted to multiple levels so the slant degree of the tablet can be adjusted to the degree of slant that you want. 4) The kickstand can be use in vertical mode, but the degree of the angle is not adjustable. The tablet is kept upright. 5) The case for the back of the tablet can be used with or without the keyboard. 6) Closing the case puts the tablet into sleep mode and the tablet wakes when the case is opened. This function works perfectly. 7) The keyboard and trackpad work well, but the keyboard seems to lag occasionally. 8) The only port that this cover has an opening for is for the back camera as none of the others are covered since this covers only the back of the tablet. Overall, I am happy with this keyboard case. The only thing I don't like is that the case for the back of the tablet detaches easily. This isn't a big deal since it only happens sometime when the case is opened. You just need to snap it back onto the tablet. If you have a pen that works with this tablet and attaches magnetically to the tablet, it will stick to the side of the tablet when the keyboard is attached. The only problem is that it won't be centered on the side of the tablet because of the magnet placement on the side of the tablet. The pen will center on the bottom of the tablet if you don't have the keyboard connected. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update this review if my opinion changes. ... show more

  • Great product! Not so much for the price...
Of all the cases I had over the years for my tablets and phones, this is by far the best one yet. I got this case in used condition but looks it like new! The keyboard snaps on and off with ease. It's very lightweight and thin. The material of the product is also great for sensitive skin! The only thing it can improve on is the price. It's extremely expensive just for a case, even if it has a keyboard. The used condition price is about 50% cheaper, so I took advantage of that. Overall it's a good optional product if you don't mind spending abnormal alot of money. ... show more

  • Works great, attaches easily, easy to use.
I didn't get this accessory when I bought my new Fire tablet and regretted it. I like to copy recipes off the net and use Word to save them. There are so many things the small key pad on the tablet doesn't have, like a control button or an enter button that are needed for the Word short cuts. So we debated buying the external key board and decided to try it. I have had it for several weeks now and love it. It doesn't have the function keys that a regular computer keyboard has but that is the only thing I have noticed is missing, well that and a port for a mouse. It comes with a cover I don't really need. It snaps on magnetically to the tablet and seats well and tight. It is a little hard to hold in my lap to type but works great if I set it on the armrest of my chair. I have never liked using the touch pad on a laptop but the touch screen on the tablet still works when the keyboard is attached so I haven't needed to use the touch pad. I miss the mouse but am getting used to it. There is a setting for writing by hand on the screen. I haven't become familiar enough to use it much yet but if someday I get a stylus to write with it could be useful. My finger writing is pretty messy but the tablet could mostly tell what it said. The keyboard pops on and off easily so I can take it off when I'm not using it. I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Nice
This is a very nice keyboard case to use with the Kindle. The keyboard itself attaches & detaches from the Kindle very easily, while keeping the other half of the cover on the back side to use as a stand. It's really convenient. I don't usually use the keyboard, but it's good to have the option. And it's a good protective case. ... show more

  • Fantastic value, ease of use
Having worked in IT for over 30 years and owning Windows Surface, Dell, and several other brands of tablet and/or laptops...... these are absolutely the best value out there. I find them fast and never really bogged down no matter what application I run on it. The screen size is fine and still small enough to be easy to carry around. I bought the keyboard and case for mine and love the protection and functionality they provide along with the stylus I also purchased but haven't used enough to really determine the value added by the device. This tablet is not Android but runs an OS that is very simular. That means less worry about viruses, spyware and the like. I run MS Office products as part of my Office license. I used Onedrive or Dropbox for file storage and with a small tweak to the operating system I can use the Play application store as well as the Amazon store. Regardless, if you want a device your Mom or Dad who don't want a MBA to use social networking and other tasks, this is the machine for them. The ever growing integration with Alexa is absolutely unbelieveable. I bought 5 plug in devices that work with Alexa where you plug in the device, then plug in what you want to control with Alexa and you're a click away or so from being able to control say a lamp with a simple command such as "Alexa, turn on the light". Not only that, you can use if for vacations and set up schedules where the lights go on and off so crooks think the house is occupied. Add a thermostat and you can then control the heat from anywhere you can connect to the internet and you can do all that and more from this tablet. I'm not sure they really boast about how well Alexa works and all the features of Alexa that can be made available via this device using this keyboard but let me tell you, this keyboard along with the Swiftkey Microsoft free application allows this keyboard to be fully functional and configurable so as to make it fit you instead of trying to get your already trained fingers to go places typing they don't go on a regular keyboard. Remember Swiftkey. It really makes this keyboard AWESOME! And look, no batteries. ... show more
