This sweater is super soft and cozy. I bought it for some cute layers for back to school and ended up liking it so much I ordered another color. It’s got a nice weave but is still a bit stretchy for ultimate comfort. It’s warm but not overwhelming and living in Southern California will afford me to wear this every season. It’s true to size so purchase what you normally would. This is a heavier weight piece and perfect to pair with a tshirt if it’s warmer out or a long sleeve if you’re wearing it in cooler temps. This is a very thick sweater -- it is almost 100% cotton and a heavy knit. Nothing flimsy about it! I think it will be perfect for winter. I washed it, and, of course, had to shape it on a drying rack. I would not take the chance of putting this in the dryer as it will shrink. But I prefer cotton sweaters, and they require some special love. I am 5'5" and 190. I first ordered a Large but exchanged for XL to give a little more room and allow for some shrinkage. This is an on-trend style. The Johnny collar and high-hip length are very current. It looks great with jeans or wide-leg trousers. I was so surprised with how thick this sweater is! Lovely color, very soft and stretchy too. I recommend going with your normal size, sizing up would give you more of an oversize look but I think the weave of this sweater would sag in places and look less flattering in an oversize look.
