the yarn it's made out of is thick and warm (a little too warm if you're going to be moving), so I wouldn't precisely say lightweight but it is super comfy and SOFT, I normally have issues with yarn-made items because I usually get itchy but this one doesn't itch at all, super great for an office job, definitely going only my favorites rack <3. This is sweater would be perfect if it had a 4th button and if the sides didn't poke out a bit. It's a heavier guage sweater knit, which is fine for late fall and winter. I woukd not say this is a soft sweater, but I don't find it scratchy.
