Hopefully and this value-priced Amazon Essentials skirt will be offered again in a full range of colors and sizes. I was able to order the only ones left in a burgundy red and a beige (apricot?) color. This skirt is flattering, even on larger women. It's design, fabric quality, and quality workmanship can make it a timeless staple in your closet. Paired with a silky top, like the one available on Amazon, and a jacket, this skirt is versatile enough to take you from office or church to evening wear. This skirt is true to size. I have 45" bust, 40"waist, and 50" hips. I ordered a XXXL. I am 5'2" tall and short-waisted. There's no zipper to deal with, instead there is a comfortable, thick elastic waistband. The skirt's fabric is a mid-weight ponte' (double) knit that molds to the body but is not clingy. It has a "kick" pleat at the back hem to allow for comfortable walking and sitting. The fabric is thick enough that it is not see-through and does not show ridges from under garment. Though this pencil (straight) skirt is pictured and described as "knee length" most online buyers know that knee length isn't the same for everyone. The skirt hem is turned up an inch and machine double stitched. After receiving this skirt, I anticipated hemming it up about 3 to 4 inches. For this review I measured the skirt length before and after machine laundering and drying on delicate. I was surprised to find the skirt had shrunk 3.5" to 22.5" in length. My photos were taken after shrinkage, which is about 1.5" too long on my frame. The photos of the beige skirt is shown paired with a color matched Grace Karin sweater for a polished, professional outfit. ... show more

Amazon Essentials win again! This ponte pencil skirt is just what I needed to go back to work after having a baby. It’s high waisted and accommodates the current postpartum belly bulge. I ordered size small and ended up sticking with it instead of getting a medium to accommodate the postpartum bod. For reference, I’m 5’4” and 140 lbs. The blue one hides the curves well. The black one, which I also bought, hides the curves even better. While it is great for work, I could see myself wearing this elsewhere. It’s comfortable and attractive. The material is sturdy and washes well. For me, it was still slightly wrinkled after drying so I used a steamer on it. Overall a great skirt. ... show more

This skirt is a great quality. Not see through, there was stretch to the fabric. However, while it fit in the waist the hips area had a bubble on both sides because it was about an inch too big on each side. Because of this reason, I unfortunately had to return it.

I purchased this skirt for my daughter in a small. It fit her hips but the waist was just too big. So I purchased again in an XS, and it fit much tighter on her hips and the waist was still too big. I would not recommend this product if your waist is smaller than your hips. If you waist and hips measure about the same this would not be a bad purchase. Material is of great quality, my daughter did not like it very much due to its lack of much flexibility. However, over quality of the skirt was very professional looking and again would look great on someone with waist being closely measured to hips. ... show more

Bought this skirt in navy blue. The color is good, and the quality looks good but will return not due to a flaw but because of the cut-this is not the product’s fault. This review is mostly to create awareness. I’m 5’6, about 115 and bought a size XS which was fine for the waist but since I don’t have really defined curves, it was baggy in the hip area. So…if you’re built like me (curve-less) it will likely hang awkwardly. Length is good…hits right above the knee.
