I was impressed by how thick the fabric is! While being thick and feeling nice, it also has a great stretch while being firm. Thus it definitely qualifies as tummy-controlling, in my opinion. The color is lovely and rich. Washing was easy and it really doesn't get wrinkled which is helpful. The back vent and seaming is a nice touch. However, I ordered based on my waist size (30", ordered a medium) when really I could have done with a large to accommodate my hips properly (41"). But if the waist were bigger, it would no longer fit high-waisted as I like. So, I would say the shape of this skirt isn't ideal for more curvy shapes. When this arrived I thought it might have been sized a bit small, but it actually fits me well. It is made of a thick fabric and resists wrinkling. It's very much a staple type of item, probably good for a capsule wardrobe because it doesn't stand out. It loses a star for me because of the hem. I like the look of a high waist pencil skirt but the elastic band on this one is a little too thin and digs into my fat, giving me muffin top. I wish it was a wide band of fabric or stretchier elastic. It fits too tight at the waist but not everywhere else. Its also a little long for me. I am 5'4. The fabric is thick with a slight stretch that keeps its shape. The cut works and I appreciate the flat darts along the waistline in the back.
