These shorts are exactly what I was looking for - casual yet professional. I was searching for a longer length pair of shorts that could be worn in the office without revealing too much thigh. These are GREAT. They are long enough and still manage to not be frumpy. They are very, very comfortable and and reasonable well made. The button is sewn on a little loose but other than that I have no complaints about the quality. I did go up one size to a 14 from my normal 12 and I am glad I did. I am 5'7" and weigh 165. The 14s are roomy and comfortable but don't look slouchy. I purchased one pair thinking I would probably have to return them but I will actually be purchasing more colors. ... show more

I just received 2 pairs of these. Nice shorts that seem to be good quality. I ordered a size larger following the advice of a lot of reviews. They fit great around the waist but are huge in the upper thigh area. Definitely an old lady look on me. Probably not the best choice for those of us with fat bellies and skinny legs. I normally wear a 16, but according to the sizing chart I should get an 18. They were huge on my waist! So much that I decided to go down 2 sizes, and try the 14. Those wouldn't even close unless I laid down. I sent them back, and just got my usual size, 16. They fit well on my hips, but are too tight on my waist. It's unfortunate because I really like the length and quality of the fabric. Might work well if worn with shape wear underneath, but I want them for a trip and want to feel comfortable. I like reading reviews from real people, with actual sizing measurements, height and weight, age, and photos. So here goes! I am 50 years old, 5’7”, 143 pounds. My waist at bellybutton is 30.5” and hips are 40.5. According to the size chart, this would mean I take a 10, but I ordered 10s first and they were too tight. I then bought a size 12 in navy and khaki (I would call it more of an olive green than khaki). The 12s fit well. The navy ones are a little bit gappier in the waist than the khaki (see photo), but with a belt it won’t be a problem. Since I am middle-aged, I want longer shorts that cover up my thighs. I took photos wearing them long and also with the cuffs rolled up. These shorts are a good thickness – not too thin or thick. These look classy enough that I can wear them to social events in the summer or even to work occasionally. I would definitely recommend these Amazon shorts. ... show more

I love these nice long chino shorts. Great for someone middle aged that doesn’t want to wear daisy dukes lol. They are mostly cotton and very soft with just the right amount of stretch. The pockets are great. They are cut small. In Amazon essentials jeans I take a 6, in these I take a 10. That is the same with other brands like gap… I am sized wide at the waist and skinny in the rear and legs so in chino type styles I always have to size up. They go up to my belly button so I’d consider them to be high rise, not mid. I am 5’9, around 165 lbs. I wanted to show a pic close up and far away. These are the black. I also have pink (a very light pink) and the dark yellow ones since they perfectly match one of my heeled sandals. I’ve been really pleased with Amazon essentials clothing and shoes and these are no exception. If I had one minor criticism it would be that in one of my pairs the button isn’t sewn in that great. ... show more

Love these Bermuda shorts. They're the perfect length. I normally wear a 12, but went up to a 14 in these because of the slim fit. I love the legs in these shorts. I have pretty thin legs and a lot of shorts have wider legs and make my legs look even thinner (and weird.) These slim fit shorts are wonderful. They're perfect as business casual with a blouse, blazer, or cardigan, but great with a hoodie or tee shirt for a day out at the park. ... show more

I like how these shorts fit on me. I did have to size up. They are not to short. I don't like short shorts. I ordered a size 10 at first and had to return for a 12. I'm 5'6 and weigh 170 lbs. I don't have a flat stomach so keep that in mind when ordering. They do run a little small. They don't offer much stretch. Color is exactly as pictured.
