Amazon essentials is hit and miss, apparently. This is the only hit so far for me. I really like it though and I bought a second. I have a medium non-slim version of this, too, which is fine, but the arm and lower abdomen are a bit loose goosey on the non-slim. This slim shirt is perfect for me 5"9, 39-40" chest 33" waist, 160lb, long torso. Cons: * It's a bit short in the torso for me, but barely, and I'm abnormal in that I usually buy M/tall shirts when I'm 5' 9" * the collar kinda folds up a bit and frays above the top button * the fabric easily stains The pros: * fit's perfectly (for me) * fabric is soft and gets softer with each wash - it shrank a bit on the first wash but it relaxes * color is nice * raglan sleeves - these should be standard. The fit is slim around my body but I can still move around freely. * stitching is fine and non-abrasive. I am hyper-sensitive to this kind of thing, and this shirt doesn't have any problems with this. Usually I have irritation in the underarm in t-shirt style stitching , but the soft fabric and raglan cut make the effect minimal in this shirt.

I normally wear a size Large shirt but I returned my original order for an XL after trying it on. It's a slim-fit design which made it just a little tight around my midsection. Nice soft cotton, I would say more a mid-weight than lightweight. I think it looks a bit dressy. Great value as most amazon Basics products are. I'm pleased with this purchase.

It's fine quality fabric but the hem is hugh up like a semi-belly shirt. Just touches my belt. After washing it shrunk and got even more pronounced. Fabric is thick, like if you split the difference between a sweatshirt and a T-shirt.

I bought the black Henly and the White Henley. Both fit like two completely different shirts. Arms are misshapen, the length of the body is short and wide, and the neck line was off badly. Just don't buy these. Seriously, the sizing is way, way off and built for a cartoon figure.
