The material is a nice stiff but soft. It feels like wearing a pair of sweat pants but has the rigidity of wearing khakis. The main problem is the ankles. It’s much too think down there resulting in a bunch up above the ankles. It it was 1/2” shorter then it would look 2x better and no bunch up. There is one way around that which is to get it tailored. If you are a golfer you probably know that the latest trend is the tighter fit, gathered ankle pant. I liked the look but the average price at the pro shop was around $80 a pair. Saw these on Amazon and thought at a quarter of the price what the heck. Didn't expect much but I was wrong. These are very nice and quite comfortable. Look good also. EDIT: after a wash, these pants became even more comfy. I'm buying more. I'm in love. I am 5'11" 215lbs. I typically buy a 38"x30". These pants fit really nicely. They're comfy and flexible. My only complaint is the black is more like a charcoal. They look already faded. The fit is so nice, that I can look passed that. It isn't anything a bottle of Rit dye can't fix. I really enjoy these pants. I’m 6 3 and wanted some pants that breathe more than jeans. I love them! Potential Con: My only hesitation is for tall guys whose legs are disproportionately long. If I was any taller or had longer legs I would have returned these.

    • Rear rise is too low, causes a somewhat uncomfortable fit

For reference, I'm 5'9 160lbs and ordered a M. I've been working out regularly for a good ten years or so, so I have a fairly athletic build from head to toe. This means that my thighs/glutes are probably bigger than the average guy, but not by a substantial amount since I'm pretty lean. That's where the problem with the way these pants fit comes in. The rear rise is simply too short. Have you ever had a pair of pants that seemed like they were just too short in the back, and fell down in the back every time you bent over or moved around too much? That's due to a short rear rise, and that's what's wrong with these pants. It isn't comically short like the pants we all had to wear in the 00s when low rise everything was in "style" (thank god that's over), but if you're athletic at all you'll probably be worried about showing a bit of crack when you bend over in these. Similar pants from Uniqlo do not have this issue and have a "proper" rear rise. Quality is fine for the price and I still wear them, but they aren't all that comfortable for this reason. If anyone in charge of the way these pants are cut is reading this, take note--they need a higher rear rise. This will in no way negatively impact the fit for anyone, but will positively impact the fit for someone like myself. If Amazon corrected the weird fit these have, they'd have a solid competitor to brands like Uniqlo. The quality isn't quite the same as Uniqlo, but it's close, so if they nailed the fit they'd really be onto something here. I do buy a lot of my clothes at Uniqlo and none of them have the problem with the rear rise. ... show more
