These athletic shorts are soft and stretchy right out of the package. The FormFlex material feels comfortable against the skin — not scratchy or stiff — and the 4″ inseam hits at a good length for active wear without riding up. They’re easy to pull on and move freely in whether it’s for dance, gym class, or just everyday play. Fit in X-Small matched the size chart pretty closely; they feel snug without being restrictive. The waistband stays in place without digging in, and after several wears and washes, the fabric hasn’t pilled or lost shape. They aren’t heavy-duty performance gear, but for basic athletic or casual use they hold up well and look neat under tees or tunics. These are incredibly tight on my 6 year old who normally wears a size small. I probably would have ordered her a large instead of a medium. I just feel like my 6 year old doesn't really need shorts that provide tummy support. I mean, she's 6, not trying to lose weight. I got these so she'd have clothes to wear around the house. As for the material, they are much like athletic wear, and if your child is wearing these for sports, then they'd be fine for that. I would personally get two sizes up because they are not that stretchy in my opinion, but you may not need to. ... show more

Great pair of shorts. They are buttery soft and very comfortable. I got them in pink and the color is such a fun, bright shad, almost like pepto bismol. They feel high quality and stretch very nicely. I ordered my daughters normal size and they fit very true to size. The length is perfect, not too short and not too long. These shorts are cute and well-made. However, they run small and were too tight for my granddaughter - we ordered extra small based on the sizing chart for five-year-old as she generally wears 5T. Make sure you order a size up.

These shorts are a great option for my kindergartner. They are perfect by themselves or under dresses. They are a little long on her so they do peek out from the dresses but I don't mind. I love the length because I feel like they cover her well and don't ride up. The compression on these shorts is great, but she did mention they were a little tighter than she is used to but would still wear them. Based on the sizing chart I bought the Small as she is about 48 pounds but I wish I had bought the medium. Not a problem because she will still wear them but I forgot about the universal compression of bike shorts and really the need to size up. They are well made and the material is quick drying.
