I have been using these treats for many, many years for my German Shepherd in hopes of keeping her hips strong. She is 10 years old, and I haven't seen any problems yet, so hoping that they are benefiting from these treats. These are extruded pellets that contain hip and joint supplements. The pellets are small, about a half inch long, For training, I cut them in half to very small pieces. Doggie doesn't care how big they are, just that he's recognized for good behavior. One bag lasts for weeks!

    • Great size and texture as a training treat, shouldn't be advertised as "hips & joints"
A 100lb dog should be getting about 1,500mg of glucosamine and 1,800mg of chondroitin as a daily dose for hip and joint support. An _entire pound_ of these treats only provides 455mg of glucosamine and 228mg of chondroitin. It's such a miniscule quantity of joint support supplement per treat that it's really not going to do anything. Poor advertising, but still a good size and texture treat for training. ... show more
