So I got 2 sets of these curtains for my place I recently moved into. Let’s jus say either they need to be more clear on the instructions or I am a little slow at understanding but I didn’t kno the plastic white pieces were “optional” then with a drill I had to buy, it wasn’t clear how to get inside the wall with the proper size so right before giving up I got it right how to drill the hole, which size and which piece put the screws in the wall; after that it didn’t take too long and I got it up only to realize when I put the curtains up I didn’t check that there was a white part needed to be shown so I was like “these curtains are way too small” But I didn’t fully unfold them. Since that whole process took 2-3 1/2 hours I didn’t have the energy to do the other one so I did then the next night (tonight) and it took maybe 1-1 1/2 hours to do it. The only problems I came up with was my wall not taking the drill pieces or screws so I have a few holes in my wall I’ll have to cover when I move out. The missing star is cus of difficulty, everything else was having me look at my curtains like “I did this” And they look nice and keep lots of sun out ... show more

Needed serious black-out drapes for a room where infant sleeps. Read many reviews on numerous ones but so many didn't really perform. These are a "Amazon Basics" so I thought I'd give it try. Very happy with these drapes. They are heavy material and block out approximately 95% of strong, afternoon, direct sun. Once closed, the entire room is dark. Yes...there are some wrinkles once opened and hung, but they smooth out in a few days. Lesson learned from other reviews: the darker the material the more black-out occurs. These we very easy to install and hang. They sure beat the old, heavy blinds we had. The cords on those were always hanging up on something! One blind, the cord broke. These curtains block out all the daylight in our Alaska home. Which is great, as our sunlight days are increasing over 5 minutes a day, heading toward 20hrs. Which makes it difficult to sleep! They also help hold the heat in our bedroom. The blinds never did that! ... show more

These curtains came today. They are an excellent quality. However, the dark gray is actually more like an army green. It's disappointing because they really don't go with the room they were intended for. However, I'll keep them and use them in another room. Just be careful with your color choice. It blocks out the sun, you can see in the corner it’s daytime. I think my room is a lot cooler. Taupe color It also has weights at the bottom to keep it down.
