"Okay, Peter... I know it’s your first day at the factory, but it’s an easy job. All you have to do is put this green liquid in the little tube. BUT...and this is very important...don't put in too much, and don't put in too little. It’s like the story about Goldilocks and the porridge. It's gotta be juuuuuuust right. Make a bubble that goes between the markings so that a person can tell if their stuff is level. Got it? That’s why they call it a LEVEL...HAHAHAHA. Now, don’t screw it up, okay Peter?" Unfortunately, Peter screwed it up. I received this well-built level, but the very basic purpose of the tool does not function correctly. Peter didn't put enough green liquid in the spirit vial, so the bubble is too large to give a reading. Returning this, and giving Peter another chance. Don't screw it up this time, mkay Peter? Update (a week later): Amazon replaced this level with one that fuctions the way it's supposed to. Changed from 2 to 4 stars. This was a complete disappointment. The magnets on the bottom of the level were so poorly installed that they Alan be seen with the naked eye. One is protruding 1/8” out of the level. Kind of pointless to have a level that won’t lay flat. I didn’t even take the wrapper off before I noticed the problem. Going right back, sorry. I’m very disappointed. ... show more

Looked great at first. But after using I found magnetic areas were small and weak. Just didn't hold well at all. I will give props for a pretty design. But in the end I went right back to an old plastic craftsman level I have used for years. So look around and probably go elsewhere if you intend to use this any more than once in a while around the house for small jobs. Definitely NOT for regular construction or heavy use. I totally liked the look, the fabrication, the magnetic part of it etc. I've been using levels for almost 35 years, I can tell when one is built good UNFORTUNATELY the plumb vial is inaccurate, please look at photos... What a shame!!!

    • Great 16" Box level for the price!

I needed a inexpensive 16" box level and I saw this one for under $15 so I ordered one. I'm tired of messing up or losing expensive box levels and this one is not a bad product for a utility level. It seems to be good quality and I checked it with my expensive levels and it is very accurate.

    • Not too small or too big. It is just the right size.

Needed to level some soil for installing a concrete pad. A 3 inch level was not going to cut it. I also did not want to use my expensive 6 foot level. This 2 foot level on a straight board will do the job.

This level is worth the price. I gave it only 2 stars because it is advertised as a 9” level, but because the ends are tapered and the surface used for leveling is only 6 3/4”. I needed it to level 8” tubes, and couldn’t use it.

It’s small, accurate and easy to read. I’m a widow, old and am definitely not a carpenter, and this is all I need when hanging pictures.
