It was a brisk winter day in the Big Apple. Packed to the brim, I lugged my Amazon Basics Geometric Travel Luggage through Grand Central Station, onto the 6 train and up the stairs to my office building. Upon slipping through the revolving doors, I was met with the ominous gaze of a 50-foot escalator to take me up to the elevator main lobby. Unintentionally disclosing my long vacation plans to my co-workers, I slid onto the escalator, clasping the extra-large hunter green portmanteau. All was well, 10 feet from the end of my journey up these formidable moving stairs. Until I got too comfortable. Sensing a vibration from my phone, I clumsily fumbled for my electronic device and lost control of the suitcase. As if in slow motion, I watched it tumble out of my reach, onto the next, and next, step. I locked eyes with an older woman, who then shrieked as if dodging a boulder tumbling from Everest. A chaotic panic ensued, a frenzied two-step of coworkers vying to out-maneuver the unwelcome object. It thumped, thumped, thumped down the escalator, and cemented its presence with a final THUD at the end of the stairs. After futilely half-jolting down the escalator to recover my belongings, I conceded to my defeat and rode the escalator to the top, eyes on me like a lone zebra in a ring of lions. I hurriedly sprinted down the stairs collect the stray item, and sheepishly lugged it up to my floor to wallow in my embarrassment. I feared for my life as I recalled the glass bottle of whiskey buried in 10 days' worth of my fiancée's clothes. Hastily unlocking and rummaging through the suitcase, I located the liquor. Alas! Unbroken, unperturbed, my belongings were as good as ever, untouched like a virgin snowflake that had just drifted from the heavens. A small, but timely, miracle. As such, I cannot say more about the durability and robustness of the Amazon Basics Geometric Travel Luggage Expandable Suitcase Spinner with Wheels. If you are as uncoordinated and "goofy" as I, look no further than this item to secure your bag.

I ordered 2 of the 2 piece sets which included the large 28" and the small 20" carry-on. The smaller case fits easily in the larger case for storage and was shipped that way. The handles are well made and secure. There is no problem with the push button rising handle for dragging or pushing the cases around. I read all the reviews before purchasing these and had some concerns about the locks. Locks are nice and incorporates the zippers for a secure lock. The zippers seem heavy duty, zip easily, and opened easily when putting in the default code. Bright orange will be easy to find on the carousal. The picture looks more burnt orange but make no mistake they are orange. I haven't used them, so I can't comment on the durability yet, but they are made of thinner material than I expected. I'm sure this contributes to the weight of the case which makes them very light weight, which is important when packing for a long trip. With the case empty, you can push in on the sides and flex them easily so I am expecting dents from baggage handlers, if the case isn't completely full, but I think they will be easy to pop out if it happens. I looked closely at the wheels and they appear to be well anchored and I don't expect any issues with them. The case rolls easily, when empty, over my hardwood floors and short carpet. I called and talked with my airline and confirmed the size regulation for the large case before purchasing, and because they do not count the wheels as part of the overall size, they do meet the requirements. The inside is roomy and has adequate straps for securing your item. the tubes that house the recessed handle runs through the case and is separated by a cloth material that is very thin but of adequate material that I believe will be durable enough. Only time will tell if this material holds up. I don't think it will be an issue since only clothing will be set against it. Overall I am pleased with the purchase and expect descent life from them. I got them for an Alaska trip in July, so until then this is all I can comment on. When I get back I will have an update on the durability and handling. Update: ADD A STAR! I'm back from vacation and my luggage preform well. Bright color was easy to spot. Locks, rollers, extending handles..., all worked well. Scuffs from the baggage handlers was all that happened. A little cleaner and they look like new again. Very roomy and could have taken a lot more than I did. No questions on size, Delta took them without any problems. Carry-on bags were perfect size and fit perfectly in the overhead.
