I needed a more complete basic computer tool set -- that's cost-effective. This seemed like a great option. So far, very helpful to have. Thanks

  • Great little kit

  • Does what it says on the box
Style: 32-Piece
The screwdriver is magnetic in the same way the LaCroix has flavor, which is to say not. Other than that, the thing only costs $20 and work well so I can't really complain.

  • A basic electronics repair kit for the average user.
Style: 32-Piece
This is a nice simple repair kit with the common bits/tools you will need. Great value for the money.

  • High value screwdriver set designed with electronics in mind
Style: 32-Piece
The media could not be loaded. This is one of those items where I was just pleasantly surprised. I was in the market for a precision screwdriver set that had all of the bits in a box. Other hardware stores just sold sets of 5/6 precision screwdrivers... not exactly what i wanted. With this set... it's got everything you need from a philips head to a t6... and more! (Did you know there are triangle bits?!). On top of the screwdriver itself, which rotates in the top as you can see in my video, it's got a great set of plastic pry tools that are perfect for getting under small places and then lifting. It even comes with a suction cup for when you would need to replace a screen. Pretty handy and definitely high value! ... show more

  • Pleasantly Surprised
Style: 32-Piece
After reading all the reviews on here, I had set the bar pretty low in terms of expectations. I wasn't too familiar with Torx screwdrivers, despite having taken apart a few electronics before with normal flatheads (not the best idea), but this set was a total game changer. I had a battery acid leak in my headlamp and needed to get inside to clean up some of the acid. I had no idea what was the size of the 6 pointed screws I had, so I decided to go with this 32 piece set, as there were a few other household items that needed fixing as well. I tested out a few heads before finding out T5 fit perfectly, and with no stripping of the screw. Super easy to use and was magnetic as advertised. Not magnetic at the tip, because the tip itself was so tiny, but my screw was picked up by the stem of the drill bit instead. I even found the orange doohickey useful to separate the boards. Definitely putting this to good use for all the items on my to-do list. ... show more

  • [32 piece] - A decent starter kit or small travel kit for the price.
Style: 32-Piece
[TL;DR] I consider this a decent value for the money, and it can be used with your iFixit precision bits. I paid $13.49 for this 32 piece set. For that price, I consider it a decent value for money. There are some things I feel are missing, most notably a non-marring spludger, which reduces how useful this kit is as a general purpose "Electronics Repair" kit. However, it's being sold specifically as an "Electronics Repair Screwdriver Set", so I can't really fault it for that. It is what it says it is, and the non-screwdriver goodies it has are just that, goodies. Extras. The reason I bring it up at all, is it leads to what I consider the greatest weakness of this set. It only has 24 bits, and only one seems to be a security/tamper resistant bit (with the little hole in the tip). That means that in a lot of situations doing "electronics repair", you just won't have the bits you need. I feel a better design choice would have been to leave out the extra goodies, and provide a better range of bits. Fortunately, the driver in this kit uses "standard precision sized bits" which is around 5/32 inch or 4 mm for the shank, so if you have or can find additional bits with that shank size, they should fit nicely in the driver. The driver, in my opinion, is the star of this set and what mostly makes it worth the price. The driver in this kit compares favorably to the driver in my iFixit toolkit, and the iFixit's bits fit very nicely in the AmazonBasics driver. iFixit's precision bit driver sells for $9.99 right now, for just the driver, not including shipping. So, for an extra $3.48, this kit gives you 24 bits, an extender, some tweezers, a sim card ejector tool, two little pry bars, an opening pick (it looks like a sturdier guitar pick), suction cup, and a case. Decent value for the price, that's pretty good for $3.48. Invest in a good bit set (they can range up to $25 for a reasonable set), and some spudgers, and you'll have a pretty decent start kit for electronics repair. ... show more
