  • Excellent stand for holding dropper bottles and a few paint pots/craft paint bottles.
Size: 14.1 x 9.6 x 4.3 Style: 60 Bottle
I recently transferred all of my Citadel paint pots to dropper bottles for personal preference reasons. I needed a new holder that could hold all the bottles with room for more AND fit in a particular shelf space. I have a vertical stand and a fingernail polish stand that works great, but wouldn't fit that space. Assembly was relatively simple and the instructions were clear. I experienced a slight issue with alignment when putting the second side, but given the material, it makes sense. It takes a little bit of patience and care because the wooden pieces are thin and could easily snap. I don't believe that's a fault of the product. Once that side was attached, it felt quite sturdy. My biggest issue with assembly are the little plastic clips that secure the pieces together. I ran into an issue where the clip wouldn't slide far enough in to click into place. What I realized was that both sides of the clip were not the same. Flipping it over to the other side fixed the issue. Mine came with 3 extra clips, but I didn't break a single one. To be honest, this is my 3rd Amazon Basics paint stand and I've yet to break a single clip...and I'm not the most gentle-handed of folks. Once assembled, this fit the generic empty bottles that I'd previously transferred my Citadel Contrast paints into (those were WAY easier to transfer than the acrylic paints), an old Army Painter dropper bottle that I'd emptied and cleaned out (but I moved to the aforementioned fingernail polish holder), and the Army Painter Speed Paint bottles you see in the bottom row of the included picture. The row on the back holds bigger bottles, like the paint on primer bottles and some extra Citadel paint pots that are unopened. Holding up to 60 bottles for under $15 after tax is a solid value for the price. If this one holds up as the other Amazon Basic paint holders have, I will still be satisfied for years. Unrelated to the stand but related to transferring paint from the Citadel paint pots: I used airbrush flow improver and a tiny funnel. There are other options, such as using a syringe or free pouring it in. You can buy BBs or other types of metallic spheres (Army Painter sells a pack of 100) to drop in the dropper bottles to help agitate the paint when you shake it. It takes time but being able to easily squeeze out a single drop instead of using the paint pot is SO much easier. ... show more

  • An Excellent , Sturdy Rack for Hobby Paints - Please Read and Trust the Product Description!
Size: 14.1 x 9.6 x 4.3 Style: 60 Bottle
This paint rack is exactly what it says it is - sorry a few reviewers didn't believe the product description. The rack is obviously based on the Vallejo straight paint rack, but the parts are much sturdier, with almost no flexing after assembly. I had two long parts that were slightly bowed due to the tight packing, but they assembled fine with a little attention and TLC. Assembly is amazingly easy if you use common sense: 1. Look at the end of the rack part where the clip goes. If there is any extra material blocking the indentation where the clip goes, remove it carefully with a sharp blade or just push it upward out of the groove. 2. Look at one of the clear plastic clips from the side and notice that the tab you push on to lock the clip in place is flat on one side and slopes to become thicker on the other. 3. Put the flat side on the rack surface and push it as far as it will go. 4. Be sure the clip clicks into place so that you know the open end is completely locked. 5. It does not matter which direction, right or left, you put the clip on - I put most of mine on "backwards" simply because that was easier for my old fingers. This rack is very strong, and it does not flex if assembles correctly - I'm a 78-year old plastic scale modeler, and I put it together in 15 minutes with no tool other than my pocket knife - to open the plastic wrap and trim one part with some extra material on the part tab.. It is much easier to assemble and much sturdier than the Vallejo rack. You will not need to glue any joints. This rack is an amazing value! The smaller holes hold bottles of the 17 oz. Vallejo, AK, Atom, and several brands of figure paints and the similar15 and 17 oz. bottles you can buy for self-mixed colors. They do not hold Mission Models, Gunze, or smaller Stynylrez, the older glass bottles from Testor's and Floquil, or the larger bottles of the above brands . The larger holes will hold the smaller bottles of these latter brands and the next larger size bottles of the previous brands, but there are no holes big enough to hold the largest size bottles - this size rack would be unstable with bottles that large. The product description is very clear about the dimensions of the holes and the size of bottles the rack will hold. The brush holes hold up to a 3/8" slant-tip brush I have. Read the product description! The only downside to this rack, and all others designed for these sizes of bottles, is that the bottle labels can, with few exceptions, only be read for the front row. You have to put some of the paint on the top of the bottle cap, and then organize your paint so that you can limit how many bottles to search through to get the exact color you need. I have several Vallejo racks and even more of the clear plastic cosmetic racks. I wish this Amazon Basics rack had been available before I got all of those older ones. ... show more

  • Useless (out of box), but 100% adaptable :)
Size: 14.1 x 9.6 x 4.3 Style: 60 Bottle
As you can see in the attached pictures: out of the box in my case it was mostly useless. Let me explain why. Right out of the box one can see the stand will not really fit Citadel paints except one single row, which is not much. Otherwise it will only hold small containers from Vallejo or Warpaint; I don't have much of those. Additionally none of my brushes fit the slots (srsly, only 3 brushes out of all I have could fit), so these small brush holes are useless. So overall it was somewhat a disappointment, however... Right from the very beginning I knew the price is a bargain, so I said, let's give it a try. I knew the stand is horizontal (and somewhat takes lots of space), but TBH, from the very beginning I was hoping to have it placed vertically. Seeing the whole arrangement was somewhat useless, I did grab my Dremel and as you can see in the pictures I cut through the holes. With every cut it made me happier! :) The end product, after Dremel cuts and changes, is standing vertically with more paints that initially the stand could handle. TBH, I am thinking to buy more of these and have them hang on the wall. After those modifications, the vertical hang is very compact(!) and can really stand the test. Sturdy whatever way you look at it, even after multiple cuts. Also no trouble with clips, all in order, fit really well. Otherwise good buy! I would buy again. The price is a must try. Overall: I do recommend this product. I will be buying another one. ... show more
