This cable solved a problem and worked as expected

I have a home-built desktop PC with a Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard and an Intel i7 8700K CPU. I removed the graphics card (an AMD Sapphire Nitro) because I really never game. I recently bought a 4k monitor. But connecting that monitor to the PC's HDMI port limited me to a refresh rate of just 30hz. But using this cable, connected to the PC's DisplayPort (DP) and then to the monitor's USB-C input as DisplayPort Alternate Mode, I am now able to get 4K at 60Hz. (I may reinstall the AMD graphics card to see if I can get an even faster refresh rate, as the Dell monitor I bought supports 4K up to 120Hz. But again, do I really need a refresh rate faster than 60Hz for my usual activities that don't include gaming? Probably not. The only downside is this setup only allows a video connection; there is no two-way data capabilities through the monitor's USB ports. So I can't use the monitor's USB ports as a hub. But that's not a huge issue for me in my situation. Otherwise, the cable appears to be of good quality and worked out of the box without drivers or any issues. ... show more

Connected 2nd Monitor To Laptop

Just bought a new Lenovo laptop on Black Friday, which only has one HDMI slot and I have two monitors. Bought this USB-C to DisplayPort Cable on sale for under $10. Received in 2 days and took one minute to plug-up. No issues and now both monitors run seamlessly with my laptop. Much cheaper than buying a docking station. (Others have commented that this cable does not last long, so I will update my review if early failure arises.) ... show more

Doesn't work — No DP signal detected

No DP signal detected Bought this expecting a straightforward DisplayPort connection to my external monitor, but it doesn't work. My laptop shows a "Display connection might be limited" warning, and the monitor just displays "No DP signal from your device." I've tried different ports on my laptop and confirmed the monitor's input is set correctly, but still no signal. Tested with another cable/monitor to rule out my own setup, and the issue persists with this product specifically. Disappointing, especially since it's advertised to support DisplayPort output. Would not recommend until this is fixed or unless you're certain your device is on their compatibility list. ... show more

4k 240hz with 10bit colors!!!

Ultimate goal was to find a USB C to DP cable that supports my monitor's resolution and refresh rate. I can say that this cable can handle 4k 240hz at 10bit colors. Long story short I built my new gaming PC, however video cards are crazy expensive, so I am using the iGPU of my AMD Ryzen 9800x3D. The motherboard I have is Aorus x870e Pro which has an HDMI (max 4k 60hz) and dual USB C DP alt out (4k 240hz). I recently bought a new monitor thinking the HDMI from my motherboard would handle it but nope so I had to look around for a USB C to DP cable that could handle 4k 240hz. This is the second cable I bought, the other cables were advertised as 8k 60hz or whatever, but they didn't quite work, max I got from those was 4k 120hz. ... show more

Cable is not aluminum

This cable isn't aluminum, but it's very sturdy and gets the job done. The tips of the cable are made from aluminum but the cable itself is coated in plastic, instead of aluminum armor which is what I was expecting. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it communicates between my ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 through USB-C to my Dell 1440p 144Hz gaming monitor with very low latency. When plugged into the graphics card port, I feel like I'm on my old desktop even though I'm using my laptop. On my laptop's screen (same resolution as the dell monitor) I hit about 300-500ish FPS, and with this cable I'm also hitting about 300-500 FPS. This means there isn't much (if any) latency in the video encode on the cable. This cable is not a charger. (I don't know why the review asked me about "charging power" as one of the categories, but this cable isn't a charger, it's a display cable.) Although this is a good cable, I don't recommend it because it isn't armored. Look for an armored one, and trust me because I know the difference from my 1387 broken apple chargers from the past, from which only the aluminum-armored charger lived. ... show more

Does what it's supposed to, and does it perfectly.

Needed a quick way for my daughter to use a desktop monitor as a secondary monitor for her laptop, without having to deal with a docking station. This cable worked like a CHAMP. Obviously connected the proper end to the monitor, then anytime she uses her desk, she pops in the USB-C end into the laptop to instantly extend her desktop. Worked perfectly out-of-the-box.
