Just took a 7-day trip to Germany and ended up only taking 3 of the cubes on my trip. I found rolling my lighter weight clothing like t-shirts made it easier to pack more in a cube. Items that were a little more substantial for me like a denim skirt, or a sweater worked best when I folded and packed them flat. They fit perfectly into my checked in luggage. I took medium size Travelon suitase that I checked in. I liked the mesh so I could see what I needed. I also chose only to purchase the medium size for this trip as I didn't want anything overly large and I didn't think the smallest size would suit any of my needs. The four piece slim packs seem smaller than I expected, but worked perfectly for rolled up socks and underwear. I bought the multi pack also which worked for pajamas and clothing. Packing cubes will be a must from now on. We would have never survived our vacation without them as we traveled to different hotels every night for 11 nights and couldn't afford to waste time digging through luggage and repacking. You could easily remove and replace sections without a big mess. I used these to pack for my weekend beach trip. I was able to choose outfits (shorts, t-shirt or tank, and undergarments) by rolling them up instead of folding and placing in each bag. I placed bathing suits in the fourth one; I kept toiletries in a large ziplock bag. Grabbed a large tote, placed my (3) outfits in their individual bags on the bottom, bathing suit bag next, topped off with ziplock bag and towels. Yup, that's what I wanted. I hate those big packing cubes but I didn't know until I started using them. I like the smaller size. They fit so much easier in a carry on bag. For a 21 inch carry on you can just lay these neatly in the bag and off you go. I packed for a week using 3 of these with room left over for shoes, laptop and power cords for everything.... I didn’t used to use packing cubes, though I would roll my clothes to save space. Well, having them in cubes makes it so much easier to rearrange things in your luggage. I love how packing cubes keep clothing organized and with less wrinkles. This 4 piece set are larger than my old ones, and I recommend before buying any cubes you measure inside your suitcase and think about how they might pack. I used one/two in each carryon on top of each other and just filled the sides with shoes, etc. With my older, smaller cubes, I could place two side by side in my carryon bag. they may not be directly for saving space in a suitcase but these definitely help and keep things organized. i ended up getting them after packing for a trip and finding i couldn’t zip up the only suitcase i have. they helped me organize my suitcase and get everything i packed plus more to fit!
