This product works just as well as the big name brands but for a fraction of their cost. I have had a problem with "lava" rising into my mouth when I lay flat in my bed at night and have startled awake several times choking on acid reflux in recent years, so I started taking OTC acid prevention. I'm on a tight budget so I prefer not to buy brand name, and was hoping that generic brands would be just as effective on my reflux. To my surprise, this works just as well as the more expensive varieties. I will never go back to "brand name" again! No more cooking on lava reflux, and I don't feel like I'm spending too much money.

I got these Amazon Brand Basic Care Famotidine Tablets 20mg Acid Reducer, they are the generic equivalent to Pepcid Maximum Strength AC, & STILL not as strong as my Dr prescribes me at 40mg. This medication is not particularly effective for me…..I do much better with a proton pump inhibitor, however many people find relief with this medication. I can use this as an adjunct with something else, but it’s not effective on it’s own….. not even gonna lie….I have the stomach from hell…..lol….. The best I can say is that it’s a good value compared to it’s name brand, & easy to swallow, but for me….not terribly effective……😭

Because I enjoy spicy foods, I thought these pills might help me deal with the resulting heartburn. These acid reducers function exactly as you would expect. They are put up against the active ingredient in Maximum Strength Pepcid AC. Spicy food and I don't get along when it comes to heartburn, but when it comes to something like a pepperoni pizza, it's worth it. However, these are useful when the occasion arises. They are very effective, and heartburn is usually avoided. This Amazon Basic Care Maximum Strength Famotidine Tablets 20 mg strength is a good buy, but I'll probably stick with the 10 mg strength for now. The tablets are small about the size of most baby aspirin and have a gentle coating that makes them easier to swallow. The price is market competitive, and the results are standard. I like to take these before eating a meal that may cause heartburn.
