  • High Quality Product - Insane Battery Life
I've had this watch for over a year and a half now, and the watch is still in great condition. I work construction and wear this watch 24/7. I still use the original band. I don't think it's leather, but whatever it is, the quality is incredible because it has held up this long. The battery life is insane. When I first got it I would get more than 24 days on a battery, now the battery goes about 2 weeks on a charge. So the battery life has suffered, but only having to charge every 2 weeks, I'm not going to complain. The only complaints I have is sometimes the GPS takes forever to link, and setup when you first get the watch takes a while. ... show more

  • Pretty good. Prefer this to Apple Watch, um, hands down
If you're going to get a "smart" watch, I'd recommend this one. Negative: - none of the watch faces look real. Some look REALLY bad. Meaning, if you get the Apple Watch, you can choose watch faces that look like you have an actual analog watch, high class and pretty. This one is very clearly just a picture of a high-class watch. The colors aren't vibrant enough. Positives: - it reminds you to stand up and walk around if you've been sitting too long. It tracks your heartbeat. It gives an alternate estimate of calories burned in an activity. So for a smart sports watch, it seems to hit all the main things you need. - Battery life is great. I can wear this for almost 2 weeks, and then charge it within a few hours. Overall, I'm not a huge fan of smart watches. The Apple Watch seems almost useless. All it does, really, is give you heart rate and the ability to not take your phone out of your pocket about half the time. It was more of an annoyance than a help. So this watch, not being intricately linked to iOS, only vibrates for phone calls. That's enough. It doesn't really do much with my iPhone, but that's okay, because anything I want to do on my phone, I'm going to actually use my phone instead of an Apple Watch anyway. So *this* Amazfit watch is better for me. Far cheaper, but far more functions. I haven't used the sleep tracking much, because I was having some problems falling asleep for a while, and wearing a watch (which I'm not used to) was jut making it harder to fall asleep. Although I just realized it detected the nap I took yesterday, which is interesting. Overall, this watch does everything it says it will, and does it well. The only shortcoming is the watch faces don't look that great. And smart watches in general seem to be *most* useful to people who bike, run, or do other fitness activity that don't already have built-in calorie burning counters. Still, I like this enough to not return it, so that's a solid 4 in my book. ... show more

  • Stylish and functional
The watch is a good size, fits nicely and looks good on my wrist, and functions as it should (for the most part). I say for the most part, because I have not been able to get text notifications on it. I looked online for a fix, but could not find one. One user suggested deleting the app and reinstalling and re-synching, which I did, but to no avail. Also, unless you synch it daily you can not see the weather. So I don't use that feature. I mainly use it as a watch, and in that capacity it functions perfectly. Excellent battery life. I went 18 days and was still at 5% when I charged it for the first time after charging it initially. The band that comes with it is perfectly fine, but not the kind that I prefer, so I purchased an aftermarket band which I feel improves the look, and the fit of the watch. Plenty of watch faces that you can choose from the app, and they load fairly quickly. I have not showered with it on, or had it in any water, so I can not speak to it's water resistance. ... show more

  • Amazfit GTR, the Inconsistent Beauty
THE GPS DOES NOT WORK HEART RATE IS NOT REGISTERED CORRECTLY THE ANDROID APP IS INCONSISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BAD OR MISSING Here is the full story: I read the reviews in the press and YouTube. I was passionate to get this watch. The first purchase was lost. I tried again. The first day I thought that was the best watch I had. It is elegant. I used the GPS three times without issues. THE GPS DOES NOT WORK (CONNECT) From the second day on the GPS did not connect anymore. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BAD TO MISSING I contacted customer service three or four times. I got only one reply about the GPS and it was to unpair and pair again the watch. When it did not help the explanation was that trees and buildings could prohibit the use of the GPS. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN A FLAT DESERT, DO NOT BUY AMAZFIT GTR. A FITNESS BAND FOR $25 - $30 WOULD DO THE SAME JOB. I have never got replies to my other complaints. THE ANDROID APP IS INCONSISTENT The way they are calculating calories does not make sense. You can have 1500 - 2000 calories in your exercise and meanwhile having 600 calories on the main page. That makes no sense. Otherwise, the app is pretty basic. It does not present the data in a good graphic and comparable way. Recently I started receiving completely nonsense reports like on the second picture: 14.18 miles in 123 steps!!! THESE ARE BIG STEPS!!! Also, the walked distance is inconsistent. When the walk is registered by the GPS on the phone, it does not add the calculated distance to the distance walked before. Finally, it is quite possible on the main page to have a walked distance for the day that is less than the distance registered by the app during the walk. GOOD BATTERY LIFE Without using GPS and Always-on-Display I survived 17 days with one charge. The Always-on-Display makes battery life significantly shorter. I have no idea how it can last the advertized 24 days without sacrificing functionality. Using the watch for 30 days made me feel I can live with it. Then came the biggest disappointment. THE HEART RATE DETECTION OFTEN DOES NOT WORK After the last firmware update the first night there was no sleep record. Then I saw that there are gaps in the heart rate graphs as seen on the third figure. If I had to believe in the Amazfit app, I survived long hours of death. Also, daily statistics were inconsistent. At the time of the gap, I had 12+ miles walk with the dog with average pace of 16 minutes per mile. Finally, today after the walk I was surprised that there is not only a gap in the graph but for a long time, the watch was not measuring the heart rate (as seen in the first picture). It is believed that any fitness tracker measures the number of steps inaccurately, also the distances and so on, but the only thing that they measure correctly is the heart rate. Well, that is not the case with Amazfit GTR. Last week an option to contact customer support appeared in Amazon. They offered to connect me with technical services. Well, I lost completely my trust in Amazfit so am returning the product. Maybe in five years, Amazfit will be competent to create a meaningful product. ... show more
