I love to redo furniture and other pieces. A little goes a long way! I would recommend using a compact makeup brush to put this on. Go sections at a time as it is quick to dry. Also, with one tub I redid my hallway mirror frame, 16 handles from a dresser, and 3 8x10 picture frames.

I have always been looking for something more realistic than metallic paints to obtain a good finish, and from all the research I did, this product seemed hopeful. It's not bad, but I don't think it is significantly better than many of the paints that are available. I did two statues that had been painted an antique gold when I purchased them (appeared to have been sprayed on). I primed them with a burnt umber matte acrylic. The results from using "Rubb n Buff" is an improvement in my opinion, but it isn't night and day, and I wouldn't be fooled into thinking these are real metal. Perhaps on other projects it would be more impressive. I don't regret buying the product, just hoped it would be more like real metal. P.S. A lot of reviews say that "a little goes a long way." That's true, on a smooth surface. It took more to fill in all the nooks and crannies on my project. I needed to use brushes for this; no way a rag or finger could get into the narrow spaces. ... show more

I wish I knew the usage instructions before applying to spruce up a tabletop. Purchased European gold color, which is a more muted fuller antiquey look. Not shiny. I wanted to evenly cover a side tabletop finish. First rub, ok.getting somewhere. 2nd go, um..not too keen on how it’s looking. Third go, oh boY! Streaky!! I messaged seller who suggested that must roll tube back and forth to mix it before opening. Too late. . Can’t return due to hazardous materials. Buyer beware. ... show more

I bought from Etsy a 3D printed Holy Grail cup like in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The thing arrived and was a god awful red color! I mean...I expected a little reddish. But this was awful. I had not used Rub n Buff in YEARS! I used to frame pictures and we always had several options laying around and used it to fix defects and knicks. But I just used it to rub all over a 5" high chalice. It went on really nice and smooth. I applied it with an old washcloth that I just threw away after. It was easy to swipe at varying pressures and whisk the cloth away to blend the coloring as I applied it wherever it looked best. I just let it dry for a couple of days before I even picked it up again and it was completely dry all over and does not rub off. You might expect a bit of a waxy feel or soft feel because uf the nature of the product, but nope. Dries great! Looks fantastic! ... show more
