I returned home from a trip to Nice with a tiny gift set of oils. I didn't visit the plant while there but thought it was a fun souvenier. The first small bottle I opened was the Nicolas Alzairi Diamant Noir. I dipped a little French Bread in it and was floored! I had never tasted olive oil like that before...even in olive oil stores. I was obsessed with finding more. This was the only thing I could find in the states. Someday I hope to be able to find more of the Diamant Noir. I bought this in December and just opened it this week. It has a use by date of 2/28/24 and is rancid. Smells and tastes terrible. I have bought several bottles of this brand before and have always been delighted by the taste and aroma. It seems the return window is closed on this? This is the best. Years ago I read a review in Gourmet magazine singing its praises and tried it. Once you have tried it, it is hard to be happy with any other olive oil. It's expensive so I reserve it for use when taste really matters but then it is amazing. Now my parents, my kids, my friends are all hooked on it. It can be difficult to find. Every time it comes into Williams Sonoma it sells out right away so I am glad I can get it through Amazon. ... show more
