    • One flaw to a good mount
This RAM style mount works well. I needed the 17mm (5/8") Garmin ball, which this had. The metal arms clamp with sufficient pressure. The issue is with the round mounting plates. They do have AMPS compatible holes, which was good for the Panavise vehicle specific mount. however, the ball is screwed into the plate with a ring to help tighten it down. That does not keep it from unscrewing. Also, the screw sticks out of the back of the round plate, which impacted the Panavise mount. I have it working for now, but will need to replace the mounting plate with a FIXED ball mount. In case you are wondering, both round mounting plates with balls are identical 3 piece units. I mounted a screen in my car for Android Auto. I needed the arm to get the screen high enough for the dash cam to see over the dash. Other than the issue with the screw on ball, it is secure, but does shake more than I had hoped. That is just physics though. I'll print a 3D attachment to steady it further up.
